Are Jewish people a race or religion??
It's an ethnic group and a religion made out of several "races". Since race is subjective and a social construct- the definition changes from nation to nation and region to region. For example, Jews are seen as a separate race in Europe while in the US; Jews are seen as only an ethnicity.
Judaism is a religion and Jews practice that religion. The "Children of Isreal" is considered an ethnicity.
The Children of Isreal have varying phenotypes that range from African to Middle Eastern phenotypes.
The European Jews (Ashkenazi/ Sephardic) are Jews (religiously) but not the Children of Isreal.

Judaism is a religion. Anyone should be able to convert into a religion for it to be a real religion otherwise it's probably more like a cultural faith where the creator they believe in only made those specific people and everyone else is outside that bubble of existence.
If people who practise Judaism are Jewish then it's a religion.
However the complexity is the ethnicity. Jacob the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham was named "Israel" therefore his descendants regardless of their religion would be "Israelites". Jacob had 12 sons and those are the 12 tribes (the children of Israel). Today Israelites means Jewish and Jewish means Israelites. Also lots of Jews are Caucasian, that is not ethnically Israelite.
Technical ethnic Israelites are a lot of different religions including Muslim and Christian.
However today politically the two are combined it's a religion, it's a culture, it's an ethnicity. In reality it can't be all of those things at the same time, but in practice and in politics that's how it's portrayed.

In other words, they respesent a stolen identity. The real “Jews” are Hebrew Israelites. They come in many shades of brown.
