WEN Nggas started actually considering gucci mane a great rapper

thats wen i knew rap was going down the drain

cuz that ngga is horrible

shyt when MTV did that whole "Hottest MC in the game" and almost added Soujia Boy on the top 10, that's when I knew it was a done deal. The fact that they even had him anywhere near that list was a goddamn insult.

I only follow a few nikkas:

Kanye, Ross, August Alsina, A$AP, Drake, Jay Z

Those artists (with the exception of Jay) make music with an actual artistic quality to them. Jay is only up cause the verses on his features are :ohlawd:

every other artist its the same tired fomulas. Trashbin status after first listen:camby:

the south ruined it

No shade but this is true. When the South rose to the top of the game is when simultaneously the music got dumber, simpler, and artists stop having to actually make good music when you can ride on a dance or just make a chant and ride a superman beat.

I just listened to killah priest "heavy mental" n sunz of man "last shall be first"...im also asking what happen3d to this artform. Music was inspirational, had a message and brought a voice to the youth f3om inner cities.

Now rappers glorify the violence from the inner city...swlling drugs like its a cool thing to do.

Listen to sunz of man "illusions"

Peace

Are you gonna sit up here and act like rappers in the 90s weren't glorifying violence and sellin drugs :comeon:

See, this is the type of shyt I'm talkin about. You only provided a very small sample size of mainstream artist. You are the prime example of a consumer that is either: too lazy to find out where other good music is, out of touch with the underground or simply won't allow your ears to be receptive of new up and coming artist.

anybody complaining about the quality of music currently is just way too caught up in there nostalgic bubble to try and give anybody a chance or just simply too lazy to do there own research to find there own music.

I hated underground music coming up but some of the best releases this year came from underground cats from the east coast to the west to the south hip hop and yes I do mean hip hop is still alive, you nikkas wanna dictate the entire genre by what's on the radio and what's on TV.

2 underground cats (nipsey and banks) dropped the best projects IMO of all of last year and another one (Gibbs) did it this year and it still hasn't been topped yet.

Yall nikkas need to stop with these cliche responses. For one im not going to sift through thousands of obscure music where 99% of the music is no different than RICH HOMIE QUAN or RondoNumbaNine. For two Im good with what I got. I dont need 43 GB of music every week:childplease:

Im not sifting through scores of 'underground artists' making the same tired music. If one catch my attention, ill add it to the rotation. But what I have is good for now

If you feel like another artist is worthy to be named in that bracket I listed, by all means name them. Good music is good music but lets not act like the status quo in the game and the underground isnt to make one type of music.

There is still a ton of great hip hip out there. You just have to know where it is. Just ask the homie @hustlemania . There is so much untapped rap music out there. But the average fan simply doesn't care to do a little bit of research.

most of the stuff i see that nicca posting is weak.

personally, im eating okay. i keep my ear to the streets. but i'd prolly merk myself if i followed most of the links being posted on here.

theres way more music out there that just what hustle posts tho. But the nikkaz that steadily bytch and complain that "there aint no good music out there" need to sit down and be quiet when they dont even try to look for new music. its kinda like when I hear old dusty :flabbynsick: nikkaz complain about "there aint no more good women out there" "All the good women were back in the 80's" But those same nikkaz frequent the same old dusty ass clubs and bars and are unable to adapt to the times. These nikkaz will complain about not bein able to bag the new young fine bytches, when they dont even try to holla at them and they dont even know where to find the find bytches. :pachaha:
