theres way more music out there that just what hustle posts tho. But the nikkaz that steadily bytch and complain that "there aint no good music out there" need to sit down and be quiet when they dont even try to look for new music. its kinda like when I hear old dusty :flabbynsick: nikkaz complain about "there aint no more good women out there" "All the good women were back in the 80's" But those same nikkaz frequent the same old dusty ass clubs and bars and are unable to adapt to the times. These nikkaz will complain about not bein able to bag the new young fine bytches, when they dont even try to holla at them and they dont even know where to find the find bytches. :pachaha:

Instead of arguing how about you post some of this great underground music we aint up on breh?:steven:

the Coli needs a DJ to do a 1 hour mix playing all the dope new music that's dropping on a regular basis (maybe once a month) for the Coli fam

thoughts brehs?

Great idea breh :ohhh:

If this was when I was in college and had a bunch of free time still I'd do it :manny:

Used to skim thru so much new music every day just a couple years ago :sadcam:

Edit. To stay on topic with the thread

I gotta say over the last 6 months my interest in new hip hop has dropped, quality has really dipped mixed with the fact that my fav cats been kinda lazy lately (Kendrick, A$AP) I've listened more to reggea, r&b, Stromae (only "house" artist I fvkk with) and some pop music like that new album.

Only releases I REALLY liked this year have been that YG album (crazy good :wow:) and Freddie Gibbs Pinata :banderas:

YG has made leaps and bounds technically as a rapper since his toot it & boot it days :whew:

I don't listen to much outside of the occasional Drake song, and that's only because of the threads here. I just don't find the medium interesting anymore, regardless of content, which has been repetitive and ignorant for a while now.

I'm mostly into synth/electronic now
music in general is shyt, not 1 genre has progressed since about 2005:manny:
Synthwave/Retrowave and Chillwave:shaq:

I really don't need the mainstream outlets to dictate music anymore. No one does. People can pick and choose where, and when they want to listen to stuff. That's why I never get when people still complain about radio or MTV still

The south didn't kill hip hop. The south gave us outkast ugk scarface three 6 mafia and many many more classic groups and albums.

Making samples expensive is what killed it. If anything NY killed hip hop by not really evolving. It limped along but it was never the same post 97 when samples became harder and more expensive to clear. So what happened was east coast hip hop struggled as a genre from 97-02. It still had its classic albums but the pace at which they came REALLY slowed. Sure you had Jay, DMX, Nas, but by 99 you could never get albums like Enta Da Stage. No names like that couldn't afford to sample miles davis by 2000. Killing sampling like that would be like telling harlem jazz musicians in the 60s they couldnt play sax or trumpets anymore. What do you think would happen? NY changed as a city too (can't overstate that importance), 50 came and broke up the remnants of the scene and by 2003/4 there was really nothing left. The south really started to take off because honestly, there wasn't a lot coming out of ny. People blame the south but it was really the weakness of NY post 2004 that they're talking about.

well im not the one to complain about finding music, but dog, these are the worst of times for rap music. and its not even arguable.

even the good stuff is nothing to write home about, and wouldnt make a dent in any memorable timeframes.
