I'm taking kidd off of the strength of taking those nets team to the finals and I must admit that even though Kidd wasn't the league MVP like Nash was twice (he stole one of those) Kidd is one of the top 3 PGs I have ever seen.

Nash is just as good a passer but ten times the scorer. You're completely ignoring efficiency. It's like saying Curry is just a better shooter than Rondo, that's it.
Nash also got better on the playoffs and was all but unstoppable by himself.

Prime Kidd was better. He was the perfect example of a player who makes players around him better. Plus he was good defender and can rebound the ball.

Nash. Insane offensive peak and could fit any system. Kidd is a great defender but he could never generate the offense of those NJ teams to elite status partly because of his own scoring limitations.
Nash may not be great on defense but he wasn't dragging Phoenix into the pit like some people like to believe - they hovered around league average in many of those years.
Both played with rosters full of athletic swingmen and while Kidd's cast was ass at times in a weak East, he never could lift the offense to levels that would threaten any really good team. Nash otoh was a legit nightmare for even great defenses. The biggest knock on Nash outside of defense is his late prime but since the question is talking solely about that he has Kidd beat.
