Exactly ! The movie stressed how they were living breathing animals and didn't know they were test tube amusements. Also how he couldn't control the raptors he had bonded to them but they were still wild. I think some people missed the points the movie was making , in the similarities to Jp , all the stuff .
Yah

The ending of course got a bit less believable but I liked the callback/remix to the original scene from JP so much that I didnt care.
In JP of course, the climax sees the Rex save the hero, heroine and kids from the raptors at the entrance of the visitor's center. In Jurassic World, the climax sees the raptors save the hero, herione and kids from the Rex at the entrance of the visitor's center. One of the raptors even does the same exact pose when cornering the people that the raptor did in the original :pachaha:

Im a sucker for nostalgia :manny:

Universal's Jurassic World is devouring everything in its path at the Friday box office for a projected North American opening of $177 million or more — the third-best weekend debut of all time behind the two Avengers films.

The $150 million tentpole, rescuing the dinosaur franchise from near-extinction, grew bigger and bigger on Friday. It is now expected to earn more than $78 million for the day alone. That includes $18.5 million from Thursday evening previews, the biggest late-night showing ever for Universal after Furious 7 ($15.8 million).

Overseas, the dinosaurs are also bigger-than-life as they stomp into a total of 66 markets, including China. On Thursday, the movie grossed $41.6 million from 37 markets for a two-day total of $65.6 million. It is No. 1 everywhere, and should easily cross $400 million in its global debut.

When Star Wars drops :wow:

The absurd part about the angle is:

how they had D'Onofrio keep emphasizing they could use these 'trained' animals for military purposes. I know he's supposed to be some crazy corporate crook but geez, there's not a building on earth where saying that shyt wouldn't get him laughed out of it.

Oh. And they never touched on why indom was so smart

me and the wife think they threw human DNA in that mix somewhere:mjpls:

sequel will happen with the govt funded weapon angle

Apparently an early angle in the brainstorming phase of this movie was:

humans mixed with dinosaur DNA. Thank god they dropped that shyt with the quickness, lol.

Cornfields, cows, & an one stoplight town
I've been seeing a lot of this and I want to clarify a couple things because people are making this angle out to be more ridiculous than it really was.

The premise isn't absurb if you dont think of the dinosaurs as impossible sci-fi monsters and instead think of them as simply animals, which the movie did well to mention several times throughout. People work with and train all sorts of animals including big cats and such that could easily have them for lunch, so this wasn't that far off.

Secondly, its not like Macklin had the raptors doing tricks and shyt. He jumped in the cage as a spur of the moment thing to save the kid's life. They established that he had been working with these raptors since they were babies and he still had to dive to safety because they were about to tear him apart.

I liked that the plan to hunt the IR with the raptors immediately backfired as well, proving how absurb THAT was. :heh:

Nope. I'm not talking about the raptors. I'm talking about three park specialists going into the new hybrid's cage without any type of weapons or protective gear to investigate a possible escape. It was so ridiculous that it completely took me out of the movie for about ten minutes. This movie was entertaining, but I think the writers took absurd shortcuts to push the plot along.

Matter of fact:

Why would they have to enter the cage in the first place since they had implanted a tracking device? All they would have to do after the I-Rex not showing up on the heat cameras was track his implant, which would reveal he was still in the cage. That they didn't do that first is the real ridiculous part.
