I grew up listening to East coast groups, and some West coast acts because my dad did some articles for hip-hop magazines. But I never really knew much about the Bay and their scene until like the early 00's some one hip me.

A Villa Straylight.
Man OP thanks for making this thread because man I need to know this as well.

I moved to the Bay to go to school. One thing I love about the Bay is that they show love to everyone. I'm a NYC cat and when I go out out here I always get shown love. Idk, i guess it's the chill vibes of Cali. But man, what I truly love is when I go to the clubs or parties and some Bay Area songs come out...they go CRAZY. Let some Mac Dre, Mistah Fab, e40 some Too Short come on...everyone goes crazy and gets "hyphy" or some shyt like that and start gyrating moving side to side and shyt. Idk i just love it it's like a sense of pride they have. I view it as if a Capone n Noriega. AZ, Lox, Big Pun, Nas, Mobb Deep, Biggie song comes out for us NY cats. Anyways I respect it man Bay Areaaaaaaaa
All of the artists you named were mostly all I listened to with a few snatches of west coast and when I say a few I mean death row.

High-key the best thing to happen to Bay Area rap since the mid 2000's is DJ Fresh. He's a producer originally from Baltimore who moved out here (San Jose) as a child, he was heavy in the DJ battle scene until he started his Tonite Show album series where he and his production crew The Whole Shabang did albums with almost literally every notable rapper in the scene between 2005 and now. His style is heavily 80s influenced as well as East Coast and Bay Area influenced, he's been responsible for some very dope music.
