It's both, but mainly the music.

If u came to the bay and asked people who was better they will say e40. U don't understand how highly regarded e40 is. U could find people here who would say e40>pac.
That's not unanimous, many would say Mac Dre and it's clear Mac Dre has had far more influence culturally.

:mjlol: he doesn't have more influence over e-40 bro stop it.

Yes he does. He has more influence over

1. E-40 than E-40 has over anyone. Nobody sounds like E-40.
2. E-40 signed Nef the Pharoah - who is a repackaged Mac Dre for the youth. That, in itself, is 1 rapper more than you can point to as having been influenced than E-40
3. E-40 is not culturally influential to the extent that Mac Dre is.

Mac Dre is stylistically more influential , and MUCH more CULTURALLY influential than E-40 is. This is rather self-evident if you have basic standards in you assessment for cultural influence

A lot of people sound like 40 via his slang, a lot of it has become ubiquitous to the point that it's entered the hip hop lexicon. 40s influence is more widespread, Mac Dre's influence is more visible within the Bay Area because he embodied the party culture that his thizz era music was about.

Mac dre influenced the bay, but e 40 is recognized in and outside of Cali. Also to act like e 40 isn't influential is just laughable. People don't give him his props, but without 40 these rappers wouldn't be up on the independent hustle.

I don't think you even listen e-40 to be saying some shyt like this :gucci:
