Just read both articles. yea I remember cars not stopping in caracas at night and I remember the check points too. shyt was pretty crazy. I almost got kidnapped there, literally got trapped in a fake taxi and was being taken to a slum in the mountains without my consent. Long story how I managed to get out of that jam, but it cost me about $100. (which is like a stack to them)

yea I think colombia would be a better bet. I hear argentina is going back down in price again, but honestly, that place was kinda boring to me. I hear Chile is super expensive, pretty much LA prices. Bogota is cheap cause the weather is shyt and no one wants to live there. its the only city in S.A with London weather. Ill pass on that place. :keefnah:

I think Medellin is better, what you think about that place? have you been? Whats your take on Colombia?

I used to think about Brazil, but nah, all my brazilian friends are telling me its U.S prices now, and imports are taxed heavily. That no longer appeals to me. Brazil will be having some civil unrest in the near future, Im sure of that....

About Brazil being expensive.....A friend of mine who lives in Salvador is paying 1500 real (about 580 USD) for a 2 bedroom 2 bath.

Not sure if that is expensive for SA but it seemed cheap to me. She is close to the beach and Rio vermelho as well.

I have asked before but dont' remember....I think slightly cheaper than this but I will ask tomorrow

I'll check some sites too, I know you loved South Africa and since they speak English I know they're high on your relocation list.

I really need to get out and travel more. There is so much of the world that I'm missing out on by not doing so.

Do it fam, don't put it off for "one day" make a plan and then execute it ASAP and you'll be :blessed:

I asked some people who live there and they told me its about 800 to 1200 USD for Capetown and a lil cheaper in Joburg for 1 or 2 bedroom apartments. This seems more expensive than Brazil (Well Salvador, probably on par with Rio). I do remember seeing signs for either a townhouse or condo in Jozi for about 90k USD. What I found weird about SA was that if you have money you don't live downtown....downtown jozi was kinda rough.

I am posting some links they send but I haven't looked through them yet

Food security is a zero sum game breh, the more food for you, the less food for me. You be running food lines 'n sh*t with your over generous azz :russ: Why we tryin' to convince brehs about living overseas? Look nikkaz, stay in your hoods. US is #1, is the best place in the world, has the highest quality of education, and the most resources. Not to mention we enjoy more rights and liberties than in any other country. So don't travel, ISIS might get cha :mjpls:

That's what im saying :mjlol: stop trying to get these cats to think about traveling and let them live the way they want...there are a few cats who will ask for advice and u should give it then but let the rest of these cats enjoy that:flabbynsick: American lifestyle for the next 40 years

Yeah they look a bit more expensive, but the trade off is no language barrier to work through, this one is in downtown cape town for 450 a month -

Aight so I'm trying to take a trip for New Year's. Preferably would like to leave the continent to do some in person research on where my next move is going to be. Looking at spending atleast a week there. Any suggestions?

How much do you get taxed by the US when working abroad? Anyone who worked while living overseas able to chime in on this? I think the US is the only country in the world who taxes expats. :beli:

Has anyone here renounced their citizenship after moving to another country? Heard it's a pain in the ass to do that too.
