Just be prepared for a culture shock, it is different and it will take some time to get used to. The first time something happens that goes against what you're used to the immediate thought will be "fukk this shyt, I'm going home" but if you can get by that and accept the country for what it is you'll be like :blessed: by the end of it. All the dudes on here who have been to Brazil in the last year have that "long walk" in the airport, ask @Primetime21 or @dc007 about that shytty feeling of having to come back to the US.

Don't remind me :snoop:

@TheArchitect just do it. Its only a year of your life. Worst case you don't like it and you come back to your same life.

Best case :blessed:

Worst case is you come back, and realize you should have stayed which in turn causes you to post about traveling to far away lands:mjcry:

I would go out for lavish dinners every Friday there. Big bottles of beer for 3 bucks in a restaurant, they have this liquor called soju that you order bottles of to your table, also about 3 bucks. All the meat you can grill .. maybe 6 bucks a person. I loved going out in korea :mjcry:

I was stationed at Osan breh. In Songtan. Where were you?

New guy here, peace to everyone. I actually just got back from belize, Ive lived all over the carribean, bahamas, south pacific, and a few places in asia. The most important thing is you. Your personality is going to decide what your experiance will be living overseas. It was easier when I was younger to step off the plan and somehow end up meeting some nice folks with a place to stay and a nice young lady. Now that Im older (35) it takes a bit more effort. This is in realtion to finding a network of people that can help you adjust and also point you in the right direction to find a place. My main issue is internet which I need for work. Some places like belize the service is barely enough to stream netflix and cost about 300 a month for decent service. Best experiance I had was in tahiti. Beautiful people and place.

As mentioned most of these places have places like mcdonalds which I dont eat anyway but usually they use local produce etc. My fish sandwich in jamaica was exactly that, a big ass fish. You cant work anywhere overseas so you need to have money saved or something generating US currency. This is where it also helps to meet people as they can help you hustle without putting yourself at too much risk.

Island fever is very real and you most likely will start to really appriciate the things we have in the states. Nightlife can be very slow. for example alot of places theres nothing poppin till the weekend unless you know people. Personally thats fine because a women is all I need and being an american it should not be much of a task to find nice company. Most places love a black man, some places you may find hostile only because they feel threatened by you attracting their women.

Also as an american you are very much a target no matter how much of a tough guy you may be. I had a guy pull a knife on me in JA, I suggested he rob the euro family down walking down the street from us and he half laughed and left me. Also in JA I was slipping walking through the cuts and two dudes grabbed each of my arms, all I could do was talk shyt haha and they just let me go. Also had a good buddy thrown in jail ,beaten and robbed in brazil for waxing the wrong girl, other then that all good so be careful where ever you go

Anyhow Im just rambling but if you have any questions just ask

I been thinking a lot on living in another country for a year, either Mexico or S.A. Since I speak so so Spanish, only thing is what kind of jobs are a available to me or what would I do to keep my living expenses down,I been trapping for about 6 months, and saw how much I was able to save in a month as opposed to spending it like I normally do,now I plan on saving for another half year and get out the game and go on "vacation" help a Breh out while I contemplate on what to do with my life :patrice:

working overseas sucks when you factor in the exchange rate, in some places people make 30-500 bucks a month. only way it works out is if you have your housing and basic needs sorted out, to depend on a foreign job is not very realistic. only people that make decent money are business owners and goverment officials. ive spent what people make in a month in one day. A little game is to buy local goods and hustle them on ebay or find someone in the states interested in particular things. when I went to egypt i had a little hustle buying and selling harem pants before they was really poppin. if you can figure it out you can start a small export business. shipping out can be tough but there is always a way to do it. you really need a local to help or front the bisness for you. a friend of mine has a shoe liline all made my a rural family in peru

You sound like a perfect candidate for Columbia....how much will you be able to save?

@Malta could probably tell you if that will be enough for a year of living.

Women are women wherever you go their coding is the same at a base level, however the culture they live in has produced what some may say is superior model to the American variant :mjpls: They are much more friendly, more ladylike and less guarded than American women, and I will make that broad sweeping generalization because everyone who goes says the same damn thing :dead: As far as looks go, they are playing a different game there, it's a sun culture and while obesity is a new problem there, the average woman weighs 30lbs less than the average American woman.
Shiit, the only time I'm going back to the U.S. is on business or if I'm visiting....no way I'm living there again after I leave...

Yeah I know that, I was just wondering if they were more easy to talk to. I expect some form of bullshyt from women at all times.....

shyt, I might fukk around and meet my wife in that bih....if not somewhere else....

The biggest issue anyone from the US will face is the reality that credit will be hard to obtain, US taxes abroad, rejection of a materialistic lifestyle, increase instability, and the visa situation. If you can work around it or come up with realistic solutions then I saw go for it. I dont mind switching my style and adapting to a new culture.

The reality is that we enjoy this US life due in large part to the US style of leadership. This nation is a complete oligarchy since there are 2 political parties that speak for 300 million people. Logically, thats not a democracy. In essence we traded in our freedom and power for ease of credit and financial stability.

Cot damn, you were on the verge of being kidnapped and ransomed :whoa: I can only imagine how dope that place is for you to want to go back and live there in spite of that.
I cant blame them for that, it was my slip up. I shoulda known better, what I did was like something some middle aged white woman from minnesota would have done and I know better than that. Its like jumping into shark feeding frenzy then blaming the sharks. No you know better than that. Its a long story, Ill tell it one of these days.

I loved Colombia, I've said it before it's right there with Brazil for me, the only difference is I stayed in Brazil longer so I have more memories but I'd live in Colombia in a heartbeat. I didn't go to Medellin though, I stayed in Barranquilla & Cartagena, and I also got to check out Santa Marta as well. I never got to Medellin, wherever I go I like to be near water and Medellin being landlocked kept it off my radar, I've heard from friends it's dope as hell but that lack of large bodies of water is :ld: to me. I loved Barranquilla though, and that was before it's recent modernization and growth, it being so close to Cartagena and Santa Marta and right on the Caribbean sea did it for me, the women were just :wow: on a per capita basis they were more attractive than Brazilians, it's just so hard to compete with the overwhelming number of bad broads in Brazil but Colombia is like the pound 4 pound champ. The atmosphere and how laid back it was is right up my alley, and the contrast between the 3 cities was another reason I liked it. Barranquilla is more serious and upscale, Cartagena is the touristy party spot, and Santa Marta is like the laid back spot that is a mixture of both of the others.

I'd still live in Brazil, the dollar is really strong compared to the R$ right now, but I also think they're going to have some problems leading up to and after the Olympics. You can't spend as much as they have between the world cup and Olympics and not run into some major problems in the future.

I researched Barranquilla last night. Medellin and Barranquilla look quite promising. :ohhh:
