What is verification exactly? Startups go under all the time. Who is to say that I didn't start a company in 2009, hired the kid do to my accounting, we went under and that's it. I'm in a management role currently for a large publicly traded company and can tell you that verification may not be as thorough as many people think. I don't know what you do (no assumptions good or bad...) but I can tell that when it comes to HR depts., employee interviewing etc., it's not always incredibly extensive.
You'd be surprised about LinkedIn and ANYONE can own an LLC. For a couple hundred dollars a year I can say I did all of the accounting work for a private consulting company and have it easily "verifiable"
Becoming a CPA yes, you definitely need the right credentials and post-graduate expertise. The breh was talking about an entry level job, I was just giving honest advice on how to give himself a shot.
That's all I gotta say. Feel free to respond but I'm not trying to derail your thread. You started a good thing.
