College has become to expensive. You are better off with a learned trade in most circumstances like HVAC tech or electrician and there is no rule that you have to stay at one. Get multiple trade certifications.

True, but trades are mostly blue collar that is taxing on your body. Those comfortable white-collar jobs are a fable to most men; an illiusion, almost.

Most offices have a majority workforce of women in it today. This isn't 1985 anymore.

You have to take that incel shyt elsewhere. This is a real topic that has a catastrophic impact to the nation if young men and boys are treated as disposable by a society that has grown to resent them. One of the women who's observed this trend has said as much in the piece.

It’s all the same conversation.

People becoming anti-education is sickening. :scust:

Got people thinking "Oh, you can just make it your own way. Join a trade. Learn to code" when their bosses have gone to 2 and 4 year schools.

Statistically there's nothing to show right now that your financial situation is better off without higher education especially for black people. We need the credibility boost more than anyone else.

Lower the tuition prices by two-thirds, as a start

Also, I know engineers and IT workers still struggling paying off debt 15 years later, with 6 figure careers. When college gets that expensive, its time for a major correction in price.

Or you could just pick up a trade like I did, avoid the debt, and make the same amount of money. :yeshrug:

A lot of young men out here don't realize how many options they usually have because this system is designed to cater and pander to women and basically tell men to HYON from the time they are like 13. All of this will eventually bite this country in the ass big time too, I just hope I can get my son out of here before it happens.

Agree with the bolded, its not a one size fits all.

The bigger issue is that young men arent receiving good advice, at all. There is no wisdom to depend on for most young men.

I have three younger cousins with the same parents who washed out of school, not for their lack of ability, but because they got shytty/no advice from their folks on what direction they should pursue in school

The lack of wise secure older men to drop invaluable knowledge to the younger generation is a serious problem

Even STEM majors are struggling to pay down debt.

I find the “F*ck college it’s useless” mindset is too prevalent among our young folks and I also think it’s suspicious it’s only being driven to us :mjpls:Not saying that the system as a whole needs revamping but I don’t think young black people should abandon higher education. If they have the opportunity to go for cheap they should go. I know it’s tough out here but the RIGHT degree from the RIGHT four year university can be quite valuable.

some people just need time to develop a plan for what they wanna do in their life before going to college or exploring other options.
Too many are in college just because thats what you do after high school and aren't really preparing themselves for a career.

first and foremost liberal arts majors, poli sci, women's studies, language etc.
unless you want to be a teacher or a lawyer, waste of time. Those are the only two careers a liberal arts major can realistic find in any market. Everything else is niche.
stop going into liberal arts, those are just hobby majors.

also don't think you can just go to school for four years graduate and get a job with no experience. Employers aren't waiting for you to graduate to start hiring. If that was the case, they would have job fairs at graduation ceremonies instead of every semester. Start working in your field while you are in college. don't just think you can spend 4 years in a classroom and be qualified for the job you want. get an internship or a part time job, every semester if you can. your degree should only signal the employer to give you a raise, not signal that it's time to join the job hunt
.

thirdly and sadly some people can't help this, but consider the school you went to, some employers are jumping over each to try and scoop up Ivy League grads. your local small town university not so much, you'll still end up with debt going to a shytty school like you would going to a nice one though, but you won't have access to the same network. If you can't afford to go to a nice college consider starting in community college and transferring after two years.
The bolded did me in the most as economics major. With certain majors, certain courses are only offered at certain times during certain semesters so that prohibits some students such as myself from even considering a job or internship during school. Now, I’m going for a second bachelor in accounting. A technical degree that’s always in demand and everyone can’t and don’t want to do. Let me get off and get back focused.

Another thing not mentioned in this article is the degrees most of these women are pursuing. Most aren’t high-skill or intellect which are still primarily dominated by men, the STEM degrees.

Seems like this overlaps with the rise in incel culture.

College is the best place to hook up and socialize. It’s the last opportunity that the average guy has to be free before committing to work and family.

60/40 female to male ratio :eat:

yeah, but pulling hoes ain't worth 30K+ in tuition annually.

Here comes the TLR GED brigade shytting on higher education.....The easiest and most consistent path to middle class stability and building of generational wealth even with the cost.

Coincidentally, the most educated groups in this country (Jews and Indians) have the highest income and wealth levels.

Actually i was told in college that CIS wasn't a good a major. I don't remember exactly why, but i think it was something like people prefer Computer Science major over them because they have too heavy a business curriculum. or it was sort of a hybrid major and alot of people that do the hiring don't actually know what specifically they bring to the table over other majors. Some see it as sign you couldn't hack it in a more traditional major like CS, Physics, Math, EE, etc

don't trust online job statistics by major either, those number don't usually take into account it they found a job in their field. If you working at planet fitness with your degree that gets added to the tally.

I would start flipping out and knocking out guidance consulers.

It’s a confusing time to be a man. Especially if you grew up being indoctrinated by social media and entertainment. When my generation was growing up there was so much focus on girls/women’s development and negative messaging around masculinity that I think younger guys have absorbed that into their subconscious. So they’re having a hard time with coping with reality and society’s mixed messaging.

And the easiest thing is to quit/retreat. If women are leaning in, men are leaning out.

I’m STEM and this is correct. Which is why I didn’t want to go to grad school. Unless you plan on being a doctor there’s really not much you can do that will pay a lot. And sometimes they want a special cert or license. You can probably find a comfy lab job running samples but having to deal with the good ole boys to get promoted is taxing. I have too many stories
