As someone who has only recently got into the NBA, can anyone explain how he managed to go #1 overall if he's been this bad? like, was there any potential at all shown in his rookie year?

People saying "oh he shouldn't have been number 1 to begin with" and whatever, dude has a legit case for the worst top 3 pick of all time, maybe even top 5. It doesn't matter if he went number one or not.

In the years that I've attended or covered the draft, I've never heard a reaction the way everyone reacted to Bennett going #1

I was at a sports bar and everyone there gave a simultaneous

Why is he so bad?

Like...Why does he suck?

How could Cleveland draft such a bad player that keeps getting waived. I haven't seen enough of him.
I think a lot of it is work ethic. He just came across as someone that didn't care as much...Eddy Curry type.

At least Eddy Curry showed flashes and almost made an All-Star game on the knicks one year :heh:

I'll always remember him though - on a flight to Vegas, in the back of the plane about 12 rows behind my friends b/c i booked late. we get cable, watched the draft the entire flight. Bennett gets picked and we start yelling "Who?!" and laughing from across the plane.

... i go to Vegas almost every year around draft time and I distinctly remember sitting in the Rio sportsbook waiting for the Knicks to pick Steph and then getting Jordan Hill... :sadcam:

... but i won't lie, i only wanted Steph b/c I was familiar with him.

dude has played in only 128 games (3 starts somehow) for 3 different teams in 2 1/2 seasons, averaging 4 points 3 rebounds in 13 mins on horrendous percentages. he's unemployed now cuz just got waived by his hometown squad...who knows if he'll ever play in the nba again. he'd be lucky if he does.

the answer is yes.

I remembered going into a thread talking out of my ass arguing to give the guy a chance to develop.:snoop:

Yeah I had no clue what the fukk I was talking about.:guilty:

Dude came in the league outta shape. Remember when he got to the podium and shook Stern's hand. Dude was ready to pop out the jacket and shyt. I was on the same boat, talking about give the nikka a chance but when he didn't do shyt to help himself in Minny with Flip (who is the calmest and easiest coach to please) I knew then he wasn't shyt.

Image if Giannis was a Cav. They would give GS fits with their length and athletic abilities. Lebron and Giannis would be a great combo on the defensive end.
