What workouts you recommend with 20 lb. dumb bells?

There are dozens off the top of my head

Lunges
Squats
Curls
Hammer curls
Wrist curls (forearm workout)
Shoulder press/raise
Lat raises/flys
Dumbell rows, bent over rows, cross body rows
Skull crushers.....
Overhead presses
You can do a pushup into a row

The gold standard when I was in school was 185. You were dookie if you werent pushing a 45 plate and at 25 on each side
It still is but thecoli will tell you high schools arent putting those up. Being unable to do 135 as grown man is bad. Unless you're sick or injured.

I don't go to the gym, but for the last 2 and half years, I've walked 3 miles a day( 5 days out of the week), hit 80 push up a night, 40 sit ups, 7 pullups ( I can't do more:sadcam:) , and various stretches for my posture since I sit down at work for most of the day. It all makes a big difference, here I am at 31, barely look older than I did in my 20's, and I don't have the soreness or issues with high blood pressure that most of the people around me do.

Walking is underrated.

You notice how when you go to all day celebrations in the city and you walking around all day and feel nothing right? Then you go to sleep and feel like more tired than you ever were when you wake up? shyt made me realize my cardio game weak.

Something has always stuck with me..

In high school me and my korean homie took weightroom for gym..I remember we couldn't bench 135..that was the standard..to lift those 45s..
2 weeks after started I was throwing it up.

I remember he told me and my homie that

"Man fukking black dudes get stronger fast"

:wow:

Then At my last job me and a 55 yr old breh who lifts 5 days a week worked the truck lifting mad boxes..when the white dudes would do it they'd complain and always get injuries and shyt :mjgrin:

Stop wasting that African blood and hit the gym:ufdup:


And yes I started lifting again and I'm feeling myself but the point remains:mjgrin:

If you're a big dude I'd start off with daily exercise/running/jogging along with eating less calories before hitting the actual gym reason being if you go to the gym with all that weight it's gonna be hard using the equipment.

The gym is for people that aren't extremely bad off but want to maintain a certain fitness, don't go to the gym thinking the equipment alone will erase your problems...you gotta shed some of that weight on your own terms first beforehand.

As black men, we have no excuse. Our life expectancy is already low due to external factors. We should mitigate that with what we can control, which is our health and diet.

I was a little :flabbynsick: towards the tail end of 2018. I’ve now been running about 5 miles every other day. I’ve been hitting the weights hard as well as skipping.

My style is impetuous. :myman:

to answer your question, no time, no food, no money are some reasons not to.


i got all three so I workout and look great for 35
