i bet i got the worst eyesight in here

-7.5 :noah:

as bad as i need this, i just cant fukkin do it. permanent damage

Ionno...I got -9.5 (funny i never understood this til now cuz NONE of my friends wear glasses regularly) so I'm guessing that's 2.5 something worse than yours. My glasses thinned out and they STILL thick. Lol

Was dumb self conscious about thick glasses but I wore since I was six, very bad eye sight...clung to contacts tight still do just to get the feeling of how it feels to not HAVE to wear glasses...my doc basically told me flat out my eyes were too bad for LASIK

But to call eye surgery a FANTASY?

Lasers. They fix broken eyes.
Dame-Sigh.gif

first off, that broken eyes comment is one of the dumbest things that i ever heard.

the miseducation in this thread is strong. let's get one thing clear here. eyesight is NOT something that you can simply take for granted where you can go like "hey.. my vision is bad. let me get laser surgery where i can fix my "broken eyes". if you have the gift of eyesight which might i add many people don't have where they are born blind, you should be greatful for it first off. with that said, treat your vision right even if it's shytty. you can GO blind if you take it for granted that your vision will always be with you and that you can "fix" it if it goes bad. have a set of eyes that are bad is better than having no eyes at all.

and yes, it's a fantasy because you cannot fix your vision. you might be able to temporarily repair it with your contacts, glasses or laser eye surgery BUT once your vision goes bad, it stays that way. you cannot be young forever. eventually, your vision will get bad and you'll have to live with it. this is just as bad as people that have wrinkles injecting botox into their face thinking that they can preserve or reverse time. you can't.

folks just have to accept things for the way they are. that's what the theme of this thread is about BUT hey... you guys do what you do. just a thought.

do ur research brehs. i worked at an opthamologist office for the last year and our doctor would always stress that lasik should be one of the last options, especially because most doctors dont take their time and can cause major damage if they dont take the proper measurements and precautions before the surgery. the number of patients that came to our office just a few years after getting lasik with even shyttier vision... :wow:

our doctor did maybe 5 lasik surgeries in the year i was there, thats how much hes against it. and even when he did go through with it, he did measurements with 3 different machines. like somebody above said if u are dealing with eye dryness, this is not the procedure for you

I get it now.

You can't "fix" eyesight ... one can just get a procedure that improves one's eyesight to the point where corrective lenses are no longer required.

And, of course, it's exactly like botox. A cosmetic procedure completely lacking in any benefit.

Unless, of course, being able to see without the use of corrective lenses is something you might find appealing.

Please tell me more about what's wrong with all the things you don't have enough money to buy.

Damn it sounds great, but i think for now i'll just keep rocking with my contacts.

Every Time i think about it, i think of that King of Queens episode

:russ: my dude Doug had that coupon tho...

I have astigmatism and I want this surgery, but I don't need it. for me, it's just kind of a luxury, if you can afford it. my designer frames cost pennies after my vision insurance kicks in :takedat:

I have astigmatism also but my doctor advised me to stick with glasses/contacts if I could.
I don't use contacts but wear glasses for tv and the computer.

I didn't think lasik cost 5k but maybe it does in some parts of the country.
