There are practical reasons for not wearing glasses as well. If you live an active lifestyle, glasses sliding/falling off are an annoyance. I couldn't go hard in a game of basketball without someone knocking my glasses off :shaq2:

Wearing a tool on your face to see everyday just to do daily tasks is essentially a handicap....

i see the subliminal. :wtb:

man, you people sound sheltered.

can you imagine how your lives would be back in the 80s or the 90s when contact lenses weren't on the market like how they are now or even laser eye surgery? :mindblown:

then you have people in here calling ME whiney? :laff: man, welcome to the real world. a lot of people wear glasses. it's a fact of life. wtf.

the nerve of this dude to say wearing glasses is a handicap. you need to change the way you think and life wouldn't be so hard. the way you guys talk about life with all these fantasies such as laser eye surgery as if it's so simple to get is hilarious. you guys once again are living in your dreams and need to be realistic for once.

there's nothing wrong with wearing glasses. if you're a grown man and you're ashamed of wearing glasses because of the way you look which let's be real, you guys are basically saying that shyt and are looking for reasons to NOT wear glasses, then you really need some growing up to do. what's next? you guys going to be ashamed to go to the library or read books because it's NOT cool?

No, because they numb your eyes. You see it, hear it, and smell it though.

You feel a slight burning tingling sensation like an hour afterwords which can last 5-15 hours depending on which surgery (blade-less option or full laser option, latter being the most accurate and quickest recovery). During that time frame it feels like you have sand in your eyes, your vision will look like beer goggles, and your eyes will constantly water. It is miserable, and like I said earlier, all you can do is just go to sleep or live your life like Stevie Wonder (sleeping helps recover faster of course).

I walked out the facility at 2pm, got a ride to a nearby hotel, tried to watch TV then quickly gave up :sadcam:, laid down and eventually fell asleep, woke up at 7:30 able to fukking see :blessed:, called over an ex to bring me food, ate and fukked all in one afternoon/evening
Most accurate that I've read in this thread. I was crying nonstop for like 8 hours :D

Overall I'm happy, but I don't think it went 100% right... right eye is sharper from closer distances, and left eye is sharper from longer distances.. got another appt in june gonna bring it up again and see. dr told me it was normal for one eye to be sharper than another but it bothers me every so slightly that it isnt 100% perfect. then again i had something like -6 and -5.50. I don't know if it's nitpicking since overall it's fine.

overall happy with it, dont have to bother with glasses anymore. and its like i dont trust my eyesight cause of how it was before. even 5-6 months later i'm like... alright, tell me if you see THIS from THIS distance.. etc just to keep checking it out

overall worth it but still insecure about it if you know what i mean.. prob cause it hasnt been that long since its been done

this is amazing to me ... my doc gave me some xanax or something. took it right before the surgery so I would be knocked out AFTER. four hour nap at home = felt nothing except what it's like to see.

i get what people are saying about "well can you see THIS" ... i did the same thing. But, for me, it was just psychological - i was blind for so long, i was skeptical of what it would be like to see.

but really, it's nothing. you just see. i finally renewed my drivers license - could tell their eye test equipment was crap, and passed their eye test right away.

LASIK = you can see. might take some time to deal with ... but you can see.

holy fukk ... why :umad:

if you can't afford it, you can't afford it.

if you don't want it, you don't want it.

Cool.

I am not exactly a "trendy" guy, but I think glasses are "in" now.

But to call eye surgery a FANTASY?

I'm older than you ... but you're the old man telling everyone to get off his lawn.

You sound like John Henry when they started talking about automation in the railroad spike pounding industry.

Yeah. john henry won. But it killed him.

Lasers. They fix broken eyes. To hide behind your crutch because, for whatever reason, you choose not to walk is:bryan:
