Are black people against learning trades?

Its just your area... . While I was growing up, every plumber, electrician, painter, carpenter, that came to our spot was black....
and I know plenty of black electricians, HVAC guys, welders, plumbers, mechanics, etc that are in my age bracket....
Your situation sounds like a personal problem to me....

Just speaking from the experience that I had when I visited the schools maybe their is plethora of black tradesmen I don't know about but from my experience it doesn't seem to be something we as people gravitate towards too... I have a couple of trades HVAC and Plumbing from when I was in the AF....But I must admit I wish I was a mechanic...

A mechanic is also a good trade. It pays well especially if you have your license.
and would save me a lot of money...But yeah the fam is big on trades right now I got some technical shyt I do but I will likely try to get me a plumbing company popping when I'm done.

Yep trades are usually pushed on kids with lower grades. It's not really pushed in the home either. College college college
I work at a university and I believe that there are students that should be in trades and not in college/university. College is not for everyone and we do need to stop that narrative. With that being said, I want the choice to be presented to the individual, and not directed one way or another. Let the kid choose what he believes is the best route for them. fukkin around with some of these guidance counselors and other folks they will have students who would thrive in a college environment directing them other places. Besides, it is not as glorious or glamorous as getting a degree from a university.

I still have my mind set on getting this Bachelor's degree but HVAC is definitely my backup plan. My dad got all his certifications at A Local community college and was making good money working on Refrigeration and Air condition on off shore oil rigs for a while

I was checking at some trades at the local technical college and they got for example; HVAC -Associates and HVAC - Certificate . Which is better ? I think the Associates just got general ed classes included
Associate college credits transfer if you ever want to get a bachelors.

Ok let's say a black person does this.
1. They are not able to get a loan to open up there own business
2. They need to rely on white people hiring them, they will just hire a white person.
3. All they can do is get a trade and work for white people.....

Most people tend to go to trade school during their high school years. Its a reason why a lot of brothers may have the skill to know how to do the work but don't have the certs.
