DOG!

Ok let's say a black person does this.

1. They are not able to get a loan to open up there own business

2. They need to rely on white people hiring them, they will just hire a white person.

3. All they can do is get a trade and work for white people.....

Fam I am in the operating engineers Union and I work with all different types of tradesmen. Welders can easily pull in 200K+ a year if they are willing to travel.

I was working with 2 brothers that were electricians that was on a crew doing line work. Their PER DIEM was 100$ a DAY and they worked 6 days a week. So that's $600 a week not including their hourly which was 60$ HR. 10hr days 6 days a week. They was pulling in 4200$ a week b4 taxes.

Depending on the style of life you want to live there are so many options to make 100K +. If you don't mind traveling get into pipeline work or oil and gas. Welders, operating engineers, pipeliners.

Hvac is more stationary work and I highly suggest you get the black seal. This means you can run a plant or building by yourself. Let's you have a job making 100K plus where you just sit in an office and check readings and maintain equipment. If something breaks though you are going to call a specialist.

You learn a trade and you will never be out of work. Also allows you to start your own business.

Word of caution Linemen have some of the highest death rates out of any career. Falls and electrocution are the cause.

Trades would get most of these brothers off the block if they were more well known but most people are born into it or they know someone who brings them in.

I knew a dude that did auto body work for a living and on the side would buy salvaged exotic cars and fix them up to perfection then sell them overseas. He was clearing 70K + cash yearly just from his side hustle and getting so many bytches cause he would drive the cars around and play b4 he sold them. Dude would pull up to a restaurant out my way in the A8 and hop out looking like a R&B singer meanwhile he went to work in dirty ass timbs and got dirt under his nails everyday.

Don't knock the trades.

Did you get an apprenticeship when you first started out?
I'm doing my apprenticeship thru the union

Class is twice a month once I get accepted into the training center

I did a pre apprenticeship program

Michigan has a thing now where a certain number of workers on construction projects have to live in the city

Answered above, but Electrician. A dude that works with my mother was asking her about me, because he's apart of one of the black electrician unions here in Chicago and they are really pushing to get more of us in the field.

It's something I can see myself doing cause corporate america just isn't my thing, and the potential to be making $45/hr or even starting my own business looks good to me.

Brother please I don't know you and I'm begging you please join that shyt it will be the best decision you ever make. Especially if an old head is gonna bring you in.
$45 an HR that travels meaning you can take that and make that damn near anywhere in the US.

When there is a natural disaster they put an emergency call out to electricians and linemen. You will be making $100hr as emergency response.

Also $45 HR is only the regular rate you forgot about Ot and double time.

Plus pension and benefits!

I get a yearly check for Xmas from my union that is 2$ for every HR I work for the year from OCT to OCT. if I work 3000 hrs I get a 6K check.

Sleep on the blue collar trades. :whoo:

A lot of brothers feel they are too good for trade school.Or they are just plain lazy and rather chase some silly rap dream or do some bullshyt hustle.

I wouldn't say lazy because I see a lot of black men busting their ass at these min wage jobs. I think it's a combination of things, one being that these guys don't understand the concept of working smarter not harder (yeah you do have to work hard with trades but it's actually worth it, unlike these low wage jobs where u work hard but barely make anything). I also think a lot of young black mens aversion to learning trades is also due to growing up in single parent homes, these guys hobbies tend to be more feminine like being a sneakerhead (nothing wrong with being one but honestly a lot of these dudes can tell you all about every Jordan edition that dropped, all about the different colorways, etc but dont know anything about tools, parts or assembly). Also noticed that these guys know how to bake cakes, pastas, etc but can barely put together a shelf by themself..it's good to know how to cook but you got nikkas out here who look down on "getting dirty" working a trade but love making cheesecakes and posting it on fb and shyt. The Hispanic brehs are eating good off trades, they're taking over the space black men left open, and I'd say give them 5-10 years a lot more of them are gonna have companies

Do these black banks have enough money for MILLIONS of black people that want to start a business? :francis:

NO

You are talking about a very few select people. So it goes back to my original point. Trade schools will not stop white supremacy
But if we are talking about trades, who needs millions. I mean you just need enough for the equipment

Probably not but it does give blacks the opportunity to learn a valuable skill that they can use to become self employed while teaching others as well... If your black and know a trade yet still working under the supervision of a white person then your hustling backwards in my opinion...

Now that I think about it, I never seen a black locksmith before. I've seen black Cuban or Dominican locksmiths but never African American.

It won't stop it, but I think more black men getting into trade school is def a good thing. A lot of black men currently are working harder not smarter. Its like, if you're gonna be working hard at least be doing something that pays a decent to good salary and is actually a career. Plus, trades can also lead to starting your own business. A lot of these dead end low wage jobs bros are slaving at dont lead anywhere. I understand doing it temporarily but long term? Nah.

Black men in general need more certification and credentials. Its a lot more difficult to eat off of it consistently if you have no sort of training under your belt. Someone in here mentioned that there are some black men who know how to do these things, but didn't go to school for it. Well that's why those bros are probably working at KFC even though they know how. The credentials from school is what helps you really get your foot in the door career wise. If I go to some random business and say "I know how to do this" they're still gonna likely pick the dude who actually had the training for it over me.

Encouraging more black men to learn trades is good no matter how you look at it. Saying "well even if more of us learn trades, it won't end white supremacy!" sounds likea copout, bro. It sounds like an excuse/reason for us to not aim for better and stay like we are now.
