Yeaah, but the owner is already clashing with Jackson and not allowing him to make some personnel moves. fukk that guy and fukk that team is what I'd be saying.

I don't believe that tabloid for one minute. Isola is always trolling and it's only gonna get worse because he was furious that he wasn't allowed in Phil's 1st presser. It doesn't seem like he was invited in this morning either. The coaching staff is gone but Phil is still there. This shows that Isola isn't concerned with even appearing credible. This is Phil Jackson. He doesn't have to go anywhere that's it's not in writing that he'll be in control. These moves are likely in the contract and were likely discussed before he was hired. You don't just allow Herb to be fired, as long as he's been there, without knowing in advance. It's not rocket science that the biggest winner in NBA history has a lot to lose if his rep is smeared by poor production. That's what will happen if he allows an interference. Don't allow Isola to insult your intelligence.

How is it insulting? You can't take up 33% of the cap then expect your team to build a contender. Especially when the pieces aren't in place.

Phil wants flexibility for 2015. Its a smart move on his part.
Its insulting because Melo has the leverage in this situation. The Knicks should find other ways to solve cap issues non of which is Melo's fault. The market dictates that a max player like Melo is entitled to a Max deal.

Then don't expect the Knicks to build a contender any time soon. Melo isn't worth 23 mil a year either.

No he doesn't because he went on record saying that he would take a pay cut. Also he's the one that forced the trade to New York instead of signing with the team in free agency.

Phil is just setting the stage for melo departure. It's a way to keep the backlash off him once melo goes.

It's the same thing melo was doing in his press conference. They want to depart and neither of them want to look like the bad guy

When melo leaves:

Phil: we explored all of our options but melo not taking the pay cut played a huge role in us parting ways

Melo: I was not cool with a rebuilding project and the mike Woodson firing.

Mutual departure

Melo brought it up first though. Only people in the league worth the kobe max is bron and durant

It a easy way to solve this situation if you want melo to take less, dont offer the kobe max, just offer 18-20 mil.

It's ridiculous to say I hope this dude takes a pay cut then throw max money at him, just dont throw the max money at him.......it's that fukking simple

The Knicks are forfeiting a major part of they leverage in keeping melo . That extra money was what people were holding on to like gospel. Without that you further level the playing field in melo departure.

Chicago and Houston are still major players and they odds just got much better based on Phil comments.
