Easy answers, the poll was an afterthought so I couldn't get everyone on there.
This is my problem with this thread. The poll choices. I respect your opinions but this thread would be better without the poll in my opinion.
I legitemately enjoy these guys :yeshrug:
Nothing wrong with that but I can't watch promos from most of them without cringing.

Owens has an adept understanding of vocal storytelling.
:dahell:
As far as draw, Rollins, Cena, EC3 and Lethal have all drew for the companies lately.
If being a draw really matters in this conversation, no one is even close to Cena or Lesnar and they aren't on the poll. Lethal and EC3 are big draws now? They might draw okay for their companies but neither ROH or TNA are drawing big crowds. If anyone from TNA are legit draws its Jeff Hardy and Kurt Angle, maybe Bobby Lashley both none of them are on the poll.

lives his life as a wrestler.
I can't see how this matters. Lashley and Lesnar having lives outside of wrestling is something that should be applauded, most wrestlers are far too obsessed with wrestling.

Lesnar rarely shows up and is not a good promo man. He's one of the best at everything else. Lashley is pretty boring to me, but has a great look, decent mic skills and is a beast in the ring.
I addressed Lesnar's promo skills a few posts above. I understand not being a fan of Lesnar's promos but he's still better at them than anyone in the poll.

Great point, the poll is definitely not needed and can certainly be considered a distraction based on it being a key component in our conversation when there are so many more great candidates for BITW.

I can't agree with Lesnar's mic skills. He cannot compete with Owens, Cole, EC3, Lethal or Cena there. I don't remember any great mic work from Brock ever, but he does have Heyman.

But it sounds like we have different criteria sir. I can dig that. Work ethic is important to me as I like how some guys work to keep up kayfabe and put on great matches despite their hectic schedules. Pentagon takes great pride here based on his interviews. I couldn't live that life either but hey pros to him. He seems to love this shyt.

Who are your top 5-10 wrestlers? I listed mine in the OP and you mentioned Pentagon would be 15-20 so I'm curious to how you rank the best guys.

Owens and Lethal are two of the worst on the mic ever to me. Opinions :manny:

I respect work ethic but Lashley is just as busy if not more than guys like Pentagon Jr with both Impact and preparing for his fights. He isn't given enough respect for being both a good wrestler and a good fighter at the same time.

top 10 not really in order other than lashley and lesnar being 1 and 2

Bobby Lashley
Brock Lesnar
Randy Orton
John Cena
Alberto Del Rio (was a lot better in Lucha Underground than WWE)
Mil Muertes
Bram
Prince Puma
Pentagon Jr
Jeff Hardy

I can respect that, some performers just irk the shyt out of you. I always hated HBK on the mic, seemed like he forced every one his Attitude-era edgy lines.

And Lashley is one hell of a performer, he and Brock are just superhuman in a lot of ways. But the Mexican and Japanese culture do tend respect Puro and Lucha Libre in ways that we don't Pro wrestling here in the states. I guess that skews the work ethic of those performers in a way.

But I can fukk with that list fam, great mix of talent there. Bram is a very underrated performer and El Patron >>>>> Del Rio. I take it you don't watch or enjoy Japanese wrestling though. Based on your list, there are some incredible talents that you'd possibly like watching. Kind of a pain to find though admittedly.

Nakamura. To bad the WWE will misuse him:scust:
There's a shyt ton of questions surrounding use based on the E's history with Japanese performers, but I do believe he'll be used okay. Probably nowhere near as well as he was with NJPW, but I'd be good with a few solid feuds and seeing him perform with Lesnar, Cena and Rollins particularly. Interaction with the New Day has money written all over it too.

I don't like HBK on the mic either. Like you said he always came off as forced or corny.

Japan and Mexico seem like the best places to wrestle. Japan probably has the best wrestling fans. I've always appreciated how they tend to just let the wrestlers wrestle, especially now when American fans are more obnoxious than ever and try to make the show about themselves.

I tried to follow NOAH in 05-06 but the language barrier has always been an issue and these days I don't care for the "strong style" of wrestling. I wouldn't even know where to start with Japanese wrestling today. It definitely intrigues me but it's like with anime I need the english dub version.

Have you honestly heard Lethal lately?
Last time I heard a Lethal promo was right before he won the world title probably one of the first episodes of ROH on Destination America. He wasn't much better than he was in 2003 when he was Hydro in Special K. Unless he's gotten significantly better on the mic in the last 6 months, he's still a bad talker in my opinion.
