Bill Cosby statements are problematic because he's completely ignoring the fact that no matter what you achieve in life education career or money that you are not immune to the white supremacist system in the United States.

You can have an M.D. PhD JD perfect credit, be an excellent spouse and parent to your children, and if you're Black you can still be murdered by the police.

Sandra bland, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, etc., we're not doing anything wrong and were completely innocent when they were murdered by white supremacist or Police or both. Freddie gray did not sever his own spinal cord.

I agree that we need our own people in our communities to protect us from the police. That is why the Black Panther party was destroyed. They acted on behalf of the community. They gave free breakfast and they patrol the neighborhood to protect people from police brutality.

Integration is been the single worst thing to happen to Black people.

Immediately after slavery ended Black people excelled in this country economically politically in every single way.

We excelled so much in fact, that white people using the government enacted laws to restrict our ability to make progress.

When you look at it the period from reconstruction to Jim Crow you will see the amazing amount of hatred racism and horrific behavior towards us.

Racism through white supremacy worked overtime to BLOCK the progress of Black people in every way possible.

White people in United States sought to destroy every single successful Black achievement and community. From Rosewood to Tulsa Oklahoma we see over and over again how black people were attacked because white people were jealous of our progress.

You cannot criticize the communities now that are impoverished due to lack of jobs and economic opportunities based upon some imaginary moral fiber.

The irony is it the same white supremacist racist system that Bill Cosby told us to ignore is now his very own scapegoat for his misfortunes. All of a sudden it is because of racism that he is facing these charges.

How ironic is it that the man who told us that racism is no longer to blame for our misfortune is actually blaming racism for his?

How ironic is it that he condemned entire communities of people for their supposed moral failings when he at the very least was a complete and horrific failure as a father and a husband?

How ironic that a man Who refuse to get justice for his own daughter when she was a victim of rape is now facing justice himself?

Any Black man at this point who continues to seek out and have sex with white women is a got damn fool and a dummy and deserves whatever rate and other charges that she puts against him.

Overall the speech was condescending and didn't focus on, or dismissed, the underlying causes, which makes it ideal ammo for white supremacists.

It's one thing for a father, mentor or some other role model to try and teach youth responsibility and stay on the right track. That's not what Cosby was doing when he decided to finally start speaking on race after ignoring it his whole fukking career which spanned the civil rights era. Cosby was explaining racial achievement and socioeconomic status gaps by blaming black people for being pathological and deficient. He was making a broad encompassing sociological critique--a shytty one born of ignorance--but one nonetheless in which he clearly established causation by putting the blame squarely on black people. He was denying the role that structural racism plays in societal outcomes and blaming the victim...just like Rush Limbaugh, just like Bill O'Reilly, just like David Duke.

And he was quite mean-spirited in the process saying shyt black people need a DNA card to keep from having sex with their grandmother, they're all on crack, and they're naming each other "Muhammad and Laquisha and all that crap."

And the outcome of this late career heel turn was him becoming a hero to racist ass right-wingers who make a career blaming black people for everything wrong in society through coded language. Cosby was attempting to appeal to blacks through exposing the ridculousness of the situations that a segment (not everyone mind you) ALLOW ourselves to wallow in.


He basically gave you the real life version of Aaron Mcgruder's Dr King Speech from the Boondocks.


He wasn't speaking to white people to get props for "respectability politics" he was speaking DIRECTLY to US as black people to first and foremost RESPECT OURSELVES enough to NOT shun education, enlightment, and knowledge of self.
