i remember when i was a kid playing rec league basketball. coach would always get mad and say stop settling if instead of trying to break down the defender and get space or make a good pass we instead jacked up a three as soon as we brought the ball up court. Now i see players on the big stage doing that for entire games and they try to tell us this is better basketball. I don't know maybe it's too late for us and the next generation of fans will enjoy it more.

My Father in Heaven
The NBA at its core is the most childish and easy to solve sport, it always has down periods because of that like the 70s and early 2000s, it will bounce back once a rule change is established like adding the 3pt line or the 3 second violation, but idk about this adam silver guy so we’ll see

Scottie would be a great defensive matchup for MJ compared to the players that actually faced him in the 1990s.....tell me which meaningful game that happened in again? :russ:

Did you legit not watch a single postseason game in the 1990s? :ohhh:

You didn't see the Jazz put Byron Russell on MJ?

You didn't see the Pacers put Derrick McKey on MJ?

You didn't see the Knicks didn't put Anthony Mason on MJ?

You didn't see the Magic didn't put Nick Anderson on MJ?

You didn't see the Blazers didn't put Clyde Drexler on MJ?

Who can say with a straight face that those were better defenders than the 35 modern guys I named?

All five of those guys are longer than MJ and they all spent significant time guarding him in critical, difficult playoff series. Whenever a team had a longer defender that they could use on MJ, they used them. The difference between now and then is that the guys I named are FAR better defensively than any of those five guys or anyone else their height.

You wanna claim that Kawhi and Iggy and Butler are too slow for MJ's first step when Bryon fukking Russell was the man for Utah. :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

Or do you think that Jeff Hornacek, Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, Penny Hardaway, Dennis Scott, John Starks, Dan Majerle, Richard Dumas, and Terry Porter were better options? :laff:

I've legit never seen you post anything worth reading. Respectfully.

I don’t get why people blame the Warriors dynasty. Yes they were seen as the ‘first jump shooting team to win a chip’ but I’m sure they were never the leaders in 3’s attempted in any year. They didn’t spam the iso pick and roll like Doncic does, it was all about ball movement to find the open man, whether that’s inside or out.

The team to blame is 2017-20 Rockets. Those 27 missed 3’s is still the lowest IQ moment in professional basketball I’ve ever seen :hhh:

the game went to shyts with the emergence of steph curry and the warriors. and thats no knock on them really, cause they were just playin their game.

but a lot of teams and players tried to mimick them not realizing that those warriors teams actually played defense and werent ONLY shooting threes.

the year before they won, the spurs won, displaying some of the most beautiful basketball we've ever seen.

the last real non gimmick basketball game was game 7 of the 2016 finals. once durant came to GS(same year dantoni went to the rockets after a 2 year absence from the league) IT became a league wide three point contest.

shyt is only watchable if you are watchin your own team or if you are betting

these young nikkas not built to dominate like this fakkit ass nikkas

TMac was just freakishly talented. My favorite player to watch growing up. Dude was just so smooth.

It’ll be a while before we see a match up like Kobe V TMac again. They would’ve joined the same team in this bytch made era sadly.

Repped . :wow:

Man listen ... if you shot a 3 outside of the context of the set offense and/or offensive philosophy — sometimes EVEN if you were WIDE THE FUKK OPEN and you had a high 3 point percentage — you get BENCHED . And don’t let it be contested 3 ... my gosh . :mjlol:

:wow:

now amateur coaches let these negroes run wild :wow:

Numbers coulda been so much better if I played in today’s era :to:

They’re just causals, anyone thinking that the warriors are the sole catalyst for volume 3pt shooting now just wasn’t paying attention.

I feel for him and Charles Barkley. Those two deserves a ring. Those injuries TMac has were cruel. Such a naturally gifted baller.

10 mins isn’t long enough but damn, this guy was ridiculous.
