Couldn't stand Beggars either and couldn't understand why folks would hype it up. Growing up, the original Aurelio's in downtown Homewood was THE spot.
Aurelio’s?

Aurelio's was the best pizza joint South of Roosevelt. South side Chicagoans wouldn't know because y'all grew up on that project ass Italian Fiesta.

Man I haven’t heard that name since I was a kid, they been closed over a decade
It was a nice older white couple that owned it, I’m sure they are passed now
I went to hillcrest, after practice I’d walk across Pulaski and get me a sandwich from UnbeatableHad to think about it, because when we lived out there, after Aurelio's, Pizza Makers was the spot we hit up the most. Had no idea they closed though. Unbeatable Eatables and Ariston still open. One place we never ate at though was at El Cortez. They were known back then to have roaches in their food.
I still stop in if I’m over that way
I can name a dozen places with better Italian beef in chiPortillo's Italian beef >>>>
