I got some family visiting Chi from Texas and they asked for deep dish. I had to explain to them nobody in Chicago really eats deep dish :mjlol:

I can count on 1 hand the time I’ve actually ordered deep dish in my life

It’s all about the tavern style thin crust :noah: . I know some hole in the wall bars and pizza spots that blow the big name chains( Giordanos, Unos, Home Run Inn, etc) out the water

Yup, that’s what I’ve heard Chicago people don’t even eat deep dish like that and that “tavern style” cracker thin pizza is more popular.

Been here 8 years and that's what I'm finding. Like people will eat it and love it, but it's only a couple time of year thing. You gotta wait 60+ minutes to get it at most places.

For me, it's cool...but I still prefer NY style. Piquods is the best spot I've had it from.

Pequod’s in Morton Grove is where it’s at. The city location is decent, but it’s not fukking with the MG location

I live in Lincoln Park. Pequods is overrated and hyped up by non-native Big 10 transplants.

I prefer Neopolitan over tavern, deep, or pan.

Beggars :scust:

They pizza ight, they put too much cheese for my liking.

My go to in the south burbs is Aurelios

Couldn't stand Beggars either and couldn't understand why folks would hype it up. Growing up, the original Aurelio's in downtown Homewood was THE spot.
