No it does not.

The only time it takes control away from you is when the fight is over.

It does not constantly take control away from you for cinematic moments.

Cutscenes are cutscenes, gameplay is gameplay.

Same as earlier you tried to claim it has forced walking bullshyt.

It does not.

You just in here lying for attention.

Do better :smh:
If the game was a ps5 exclusive you would be calling out the game for being nothing but glorified QTE sequences. :manny:

Beat the game earlier when I got home and just replayed to beat it again to get a different ending. I assume there's just these two endings, but I suppose a third isn't impossible. Both endings were presented and told beautifully, tho I definitely preferred my initial choice for my first ending over the second. I believe it was the right choice to make.

All in all, classic game. Essentially a 10/10. Definitely a GOTY for this year, easily. Think it's probably a shoe-in for it really, unless one of these end of the year games really goes all out.

Finally completed this wow just wow, truly a game of epic proportions. I heard the lead writer came on as a voice actor and before long had a major input in revamping the story. Props all around this story was phenomenal, the game is purely about dealing with grief and accepting what has come.

What would you guys call the definitive ending?

I think painted Verso ending the canvas is the only real ending and the good ending. If Maelle stays she will die leading to further tragedy for the family. In essence both mother and daughter had to let go.

Curious what your initial choice was?

I feel like the developers were leaning more one way as the canon ending, however, I went with my gut and stand by my ending choice.
Maelle. Also, there is no good ending. You can't call an ending that results in genocide good just because a family of Gods bad at coping with grief can move on and hopefully heal. fukk the Dessendres.

Completed Act 1.
Yeah. The writers killed it.
This game just set the bar for every other RPG coming after it.
All the praise it's getting is 100% deserved. Go ahead and give it game of the year and when we talk about this console gen's defining games, this is going to be one of them.

As cold as it sounds they are not real, and if we want to keep things a buck. Who’s to say the returnees that Maelle brings back are actually the same people and not just her interpretation of them? There was a third option but Maelle simply refused it. She could have left the world and ensured its survival, she was being selfish same as her mum.

They are real. The beginning of the game, the soul of verso, and even Renoir acknowledge how real they are. Just because they were created by a God doesn't make them not real. Many think we are created by a God. Is it ok to wipe us out on a whim? If the Lumierians don't count as real people, having two endings makes no sense. The fact that Renoir had to make a cruel choice is because he will prioritize his family over the people of the canvas. How many parents would burn the world to save their child? Renoir is no different. And we have no reason to believe the people she brings bak aren't the same, as Lune and Sciel came back just the same without missing a beat, wondering wth just happened. Saying they wouldn't be the same is just speculation.

If God created us and Jesus decided to live amongst us, and God decided we had to go because staying on Earth would kill Jesus, would you go "You know what? That's cool. We gotta make sure Jesus can move on with life"? Hell no! You'd rage against fate. You'd try to fight however you could, which is exactly what the people of the canvas did. The Lumierians lived, loved, died, had hopes and dreams, could kill themselves, question their existence, and everything else a sapient does. I play RPGs to fight the gods, not put their well being over the common man. Make no mistake, the Dessendres are Gods, and their creations are very real. I feel like calling them not real is a way to cope with the cruelty of Verso's ending. Both endings mean bad things for some, I just prefer the option where the gods suffer vs the common man reaching oblivion.
