Maxed out Maelle's relationship. You mean to tell me this was optional? :picard:

Even Atlus need to take notes. This is how you bond with characters.

Every RPG dev is on notice.
this shyt right here

ending and runback spoilers:
this is when i realized verso is clear psychopath and started looking at all of his other interactions in a different light.

because once you see that tell the truth/lie option, you can look back to see the BS in clarity
how he was the only one in the sirene encounter that had no one appear in front of him - he's not built different, he's just shattered. visages calls him out directly. and his entire relationship with faux alicia? dude legit plays into renoirs scumbaggery just to hide behind it himself. and how he did julie? the man simply can't commit that

:scust:

probably would've offed sciel's husband himself if he were still alive at the time too

I don't agree with what Verso did but I also can't judge him.

Not only did he not ask to be created, he was trapped against his will for decades. Effectively immortal, so unless something drastically changed (like the events in this game) he'd be forced to live a life he never wanted, forever.

I do think Maelle should've been a lot more angry with the truth answer he gave about Gustave, though.

As far as Maelle, regardless of how you feel about Verso....his ending is objectively the right choice. If the canvas continues to exist, there's nothing to indicate Maelle would have the willpower to leave on her own. Yes Lumiere and all the characters are awesome....but they don't really exist. Alicia's life in the "real world" sucks and her family is dysfunctional as hell but the only way they can begin to heal is outside of the canvas.

They don't spell out which ending is best but the Maelle ending is dark as f*ck and clearly not leading into anything good.

can't agree :hubie:

if all of these painted characters are based somewhat off their real versions, then why is verso *nothing* like anyone's memory of the real one? :jbhmm:

Maelle basically stomps out two senior level painters in a foreign canvas too - that's the type of stuff that Clea was propped up for. She ain't average. By every other metric given, she's far more capable than anyone outside of Clea so saying she'd go insane for staying really just plays into Renoir's fears/exhaustion and Painted Verso's unreliable narration.

there's a building narrative online describing that the real Verso potentially faked his death and honestly..... that's just really, really on brand. Maelle's ending is only dark for Verso - and he deserved it for trying end everyone multiple times for some big picture he only wants to grasp when its convenient. Destroying the world on his terms? Full speed ahead. Painted Alicia punches out without so much as a dap for him? Maelle how could you :damn:

Why didn’t Maelle bring Gustave back?

She was limited on who she could bring back while Renoir was still in control of the chroma. That's why she doesn't bring Gustave and everyone else back until her ending when Renoir's out of the picture. Apparently she was able to gather Lune and Sciel's chroma as they both gommaged next to her and she reaches for their petals at the end of Act 2. So those two specifically were able to be repainted at the time. Does feel a bit plot hole-ish but yeah.

I don't think they are necessarily closely based off their real versions. The Paintress and The Curator are nothing like real world Aline and Renoir, for example. Nor are Monoco and Noco.

It is intrinsically Verso's canvas more so than anyone else's due to it containing a piece of his soul. It's hard to say how close it is personality-wise because the real Verso never had to deal with forced immortality.

Lastly, obviously the story is open to interpretation but when I said dark I meant how each ending is portrayed.

Verso's ending shows the family out in the real world around his grave. The inhabitants of the canvas wave good bye.

Maelle's ending has a horror movie style piano stab when it shows her controlling Verso.

I didn't get a good or hopeful vibe from her ending.

Just fought the Secret Boss Clea, and that bytch is built DIFFERENT.

If your parry game not up to snuff, you getting your bootyhole cleared out like a company that's liquidating.

Still beat that ass, though, but I'm gonna run this fight back since the character isn't in the Endless Tower

Did the game get easier. I quit because I kept wiping on story mode (which is harder because the enemies pump fake slower). But now parrying is easier than dodging and I'm no longer being 3 shot.

They severely nerfed story mode. They increased parry and dodge time by 40% and damage received by 50%.
