Troy baker kill sessions just as fast. I think this was his first game, so I understand why he was feeling guilty he was getting all that love but is a total boomer about video games. He killed it tho
I don't see death stranding beating this game however kojima is leaning into the combat this go round and dusted off a grey fox (cyber ninja) and solid snake type characters this time. So he coming for it.yeah I can't see a polarizing/complex game like DS ever winning GOTY, even if E33 wasn't in the picture (assuming 2 will be more of the same)
the stars are def aligning here though - amazing soundtrack/characters/voice acting/gameplay, great cutscenes (movie games), creative story that everyone can easily understand and appreciate, non-cookie cutter ending, the sales, the critical acclaim, no controversy behind it (no grifter antics, no stans undermining since it's multi-plat, etc etc)
best I can see is Ghost of Yotei being runner up quality, but beyond that, I don't know if Sucker Punch has a generational game in them
This OST is heat, but there's definitely been many other fire OSTs over the last two decades that were whip-worthy.It's been a long while since I've had any recent game music blasting from the sound system in the car, like legit over 2 decades probably.
But this game restored the feeling
In particular flying waters-goblu and gestral summer party
Edit: Actually I'm lying River City Girls 1 and some of streets of rage 4 did get burn.
Breh, whoever said they beat this game in 30-40 hours ain't do NONE of the side content. I'm 78 hours in and I'm still not done.

I STILL ain't tackled the tower yet and I'm level 85
that scene at the start of the game when everybody turned into rose petals and the expedition 33 banner showed was so fukking beautiful man
