Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (April 24, 2025)

I'm not sure tbh. Its delivered exceptionally well and there is some emotional depth there but it kind of depends what kind of person you are. I'm still not really sure if I like this story well at least the main central conflict in the story.

Yeah, i think that FF in general still clears damn near everything in story telling. However, the voice acting and the freaking eye tech/motion capture is INCREDIBLE. Without even a word, the difference between say, Maelle and Luna is SO striking and so full of life.

It's like some of the best actors around that carry a so-so script. The music is also amazing. But the story is VERY nuanced and told mostly in side/optional content. If you want the full story, you gotta do EVERYTHING.

It is rather goofy and ironic to highlight slight "movie" games in praise of an RPG, considering they're the epitome of movie games. Everyone know what time you be on tho.

This game literally has black bars when cutscenes are about to happen. It also forces your character into a walking animation. All the stuff movie games do that Meach supposedly says is ruining games. I think if this game was a Sony exclusive he would've been singing a different tune.

I play games more for story than anything, so when I heard about NEEDING to parry and shyt I got turned off

now that im actually playing, this shyt is fun as fukk. Im trying to train myself to parry a lot lot lot more than I try dodging, but I think I saw someone recommend dodging until you learn attack patterns than start parrying

A movie game can’t have turn based combat, overworld maps, dozens of weapons etc.


This game is being praised for being very “gamey” in mechanics while still delivering a realistic/quality/mature production.

Something that is actually very rare in gaming today.
