As far as rapping about himself, that's one of the best things about Jay-z.
That he's experienced so much that he talks about so many things in first person, he's not going on wikipedia and reading about genocides to write a song. He'll write about it if he's seen it with his own eyes, experienced it.
But if he wants to he might hit you with a Minority Report as if that's his alley on his like 10th album. And even that he was involved with through charity.
He might not do what Nas does the best as good in what he does best, but as usual Nas stans can't discuss their god without turning into illiterate fundamentalists.
And although I don't agree, a lot people would rank Blueprint and Reasonable Doubt higher than Illmatic.
I.e. that's a subjective question, my statement is objective in the sense that I can prove it.

That's completely irrelevant to what I said, I repeatedly said that he can do more things but that doesn't necessarily make him better. Can Jay make an album as good as Illmatic? And if so, why hasn't he?

i'm a stan but i'll be damned if this isn't true. Even when he's rapping about something else, it's always in relation to him
