the far left has made it way too embarrassing to be a democrat. it's not even something i'd admit to publicly anymore

weird fakkitry, crying about illegal immigrants, shytty electric cars, and white women whining about toxic masculinity, dominate the party's image. it's soft and weak
If that is all the far-left than what are the establishment Democrats standing for?

Campaigns do assess their successes and failures. But clearly, the standard post-election analysis hasn't been enough, or they wouldn't be investing in a multi-state effort to deeply engage working-class voters who have turned away from them. People's political priorities are not so simple that they can be fully understood through routine campaign assessments alone.

That baseline reflection was not enough, and it's good that deeper engagement is being carried out. I'm not making excuses for Democrats, we both understand that they have failed with turning out both their own base, and engaging with and turning out disaffected voters, but dismissing an effort to actually understand and address these failures doesn't make sense. If the problem is that they haven't listened enough, then rejecting an initiative focused on listening seems contradictory. I personally don't agree with chasing past Dem voters turned Trump voters, because I see them as a lost cause. There are millions more voters out that that don't vote for either party that could likely be reached.

If you can rationalize them investing millions in the same fallacy that had them spending a warchest of campaign funds to basically "understand why they can't understand" as if there are no clear, obvious, troves of success frameworks to pull from.... then you got it. I won't.

Yall do understand that the only time this country had any sort of solidarity with labor, is when Black folks, gays, women, and small hats were legally treated like second class citizens? :mjlol:

Cacs have never wanted inclusiveness. They were only pro labor when labor was defined as being "for the white man". You can rid the Dems of all the trans trappings and shift to pro labor all you want. THe second you articulate that Labor is meant to uplift anyone, INCLUDING people who arent white men, you lose 70% of cacs.

Me in 2022:

I’ve been saying for a few years now…the ‘far left’ is a SERIOUS problem. It’s not in a man’s nature to move like this. At this rate a majority of men, black and white, are not gonna go Maga but will opt out and become agnostic. Dems will just be women and gays

abortion rights, expanding healthcare, expanding childcare, taxing the rich while cutting taxes on the poor, keeping the environment clean, etc

it's not hard to come up with a platform, and leave out drag shows for children in public schools :mjlol:

That was a conservative ad, if it's the one I'm thinking about
Correct. Perhaps the most effective political ad of this century. Now ask yourself why a presidential candidate for your party is EVER recorded uttering that nonsensical statement?

If I told you you can vote a party that is on the wrong side of an issue that effects a literal minuscule portion of the population, or you can vote for a party that’s going to raise your taxes, cut your subsidies, and raise the cost of goods across the board, who would you vote for?

If you chose option B, why should I spend my time trying to educate you?

that happened under the democrats :unimpressed:

but what if i told you that you could vote for the democrats, and still admit that they're wrong, stupid and embarrassing on a handful of issues :ohhh:

Good luck winning an election in the future with that strategy

Nope. We’re not doing that. Your candidate of choice, based on his stance regarding trans issues, said he was going to bring prices down day one. They’ve continued to rise. Now he’s implementing tariffs that will make goods cost even more. So, again, why should I waste my time trying to reach someone that dumb?

That’s not answering the question

Working families, living wages, Medicare, Medicaid, social security, social services, home affordability, strong unions, equal employment. These are core issues. End of story. This is what the average person deals with and we want leaders addressing those things. I don’t want some spoiled white chick calling me some made up acronym while wagging her finger.

There's two things going on simultaneously.

Working class - these are usually low information voters. They're scared and want someone that "feels" strong and tough. Evil Marmalade talks like a bully and makes them think he can solve all their problems, even though he can't. Nothing the Dems offer in terms of messages was going to change that. Ironically, they'll be hurt THE MOST by Marmalade's policies.

Educated liberals - have zero concern with Dems moving left on social issues. They recognize that establishment Dem leaders are comprised and will always choose moderate stances on economic policy because those politicians are part of The 1%. Educated voters can see through Evil Marmalade like glass and know he offers nothing but failure.

Working class voters are going to take the biggest L.....but Democrats need a simpler, easier to digest message.

They gotta create their own media ecosystems to almost brainwash the masses like the GOP has since the late 80s. Educated people will research and consume a wide array of media and sources. Working class voters will consume oligarch sponsored media that tries to sane-wash Evil Marmalade and make him seem normal.

Anti-intellectualism works to the GOP advantage....lazy citizens. Democrats have to meet voters (that MIGHT read on an 8th grade level) where they are. Dumb it down then hammer the nail as if they're paid to do it.
