94 to 99 was like two different worlds.

He's right...it dropped with no fanfare and only real hip hop heads knew about it and we're playing it. Then it picked up steam and became "hot".

Something like that but more like this:
Nas came back with an entirely different (bad boy records wanna-be) style and finally blew. The fact that he had a 5 mic album was now more of a factor and as nas consistently was a revered artist,illmatic was talked up more and more till it actually moved units.

Nas sound like a very poor mans Cube on that demo,being that cube was an inspiration for him it sounds about right....but he went from fantasy rhymes about being a coke kingpin "until he woke up" from his dream,to becoming Nas escobar after illmatic didnt get the attention of his peers.

Sorry but "nikkas wanted to rhyme better after hearing Nas" is not impactful,because 1.thats the basic role every great lyricist had on they lyricist peers....and 2 nikkas wasnt changing they style up to sound like Nas.

Future and Migos would have more of a claim than Nas would in making an impact as rappers,yall just so happen not to like people who rap like them....but Nas loves Future and how hes advanced the flows,guess u better fall in line since Nas is a fan
