I love Dilla and Madlib. But why am I to assume somebody else should know who they are? He was a baby/young kid when Dilla was active AND I don't think he is into that subgenre of rap/hip hop overall. This is nothing to have outrage over. If anything its a teachable moment for him if he is interested. Put him on to their greatness.

This as sad as it may be to some it’s the truth. I’ve had homies look at me like nikka please when I said Volume 2 is one of my all time favorite albums. I’ve seen Dilla around Detroit spots numerous times and there wasn’t ever any fan fair. Oddly enough I’ve never seen him in a spot that would appreciate him. Outside of a small group of a generation or two of Detroit Hip Hop, all the love came from elsewhere and more so after his passing unfortunately.

Detroit rap had 2 completely opposite sides back then. That hip hop shop rappity rap chit, i can’t tell you nothing about except Maurice Malone jeans.

But for an actual person in the industry AND being from the Midwest, it is inexcusable.

Dilla and Common worked together and had great chemistry. That's Detroit and Chicago right there. And for white ppl to have to put a Black person up on game about who Dilla is smh.
