9th listen.

There’s no skips on this album in terms of “bad” tracks.

I’ve been through the wringer with it the past few days.

It‘s definitely the best since Big Doe Rehab (which I listened to yesterday).

Edit: ‘Soul Thang’ is a bit boring.

brother kanye hasnt forgotten how to produce , you're letting your thoughts on who he is influence what you know he can bring to the table. hell the soulful joitns he was doing like a year ago on instgram the piano man track are better production for ghost than this entire album.

I get detesting Ye at this point or however you feel but you're kidding yourself if you dont think kanye and mike dean wouldnt have been a WAYYY better option. bigtime. hell even just as an executive producer to look over the project. ghost is ghost kanye wasnt gonna have him rapping about hitler lol.....Ye and sadly WSG woulda been wayyy better for this

I’m good on Hitler Ye going anywhere NEAR any artist I like/respect. nikkas said the same shyt for years and years that a Kanye produced Nas album would be the next Thriller and look how THAT turned out.

It seems that people like you don’t understand the importance of an artist and producer being on the same page mentally/creatively in order to make a good project alone a great one. Kanye has wrought nothing but chaos and diminishing returns to every musical project he’s touched since 2018, save for Pusha T’s Its Almost Dry, and thats one of the few times when it was reported he was actually taking medication for whatever mental illness of the moment he suffers from. You think Ghostface Killah would be inspired and in the mood to write some classic fly shyt listening to Kanye ramble about the Holocaust being fake and sucking his cousin’s dikk?!?! You think Ghost would proudly present an album to the world executive produced by a black man wearing a Klan hoodie?!?! Absolutely not.

I like the album just fine the way it is. If you don’t then sorry for you. But there’s ZERO chance that present day Kanye West’s involvement would have resulted in anything more than a circus of bullshyt.

I have zero expectations for that record and even less now that I have to wonder if its gonna be a bunch 9f the unreleased leftovers they've done over the years with a couple new tracks tacked on, personally I'm anticipating KD4 more than the Premo one tbh

Edit - but I recognize what a Premo/Nas album means to a certain demographic of Nas fans so for that segment of the populace I hope its everything they hope it is

I think it's going to be a brand new album. It was supposed to come out last year and when Nas released his calendar a couple months ago, he had multiple Premier sessions on it. This album is going to be the main event and garner the most attention, so I doubt they're going to half-ass it.

@Awesome Wells, what do you know about the album?

we can agree to strongly disagree, you often make it about the person and not the content of the music and thats where we differ, its quite simple in this case its about beats and production and 2020-2025 there are AMPLE showings of both kanye and mike dean creating music leagues about this

edit: and furthermore take kanye out for a flip side, we can both agree that the production here is not where it needs to be period and theres diff paths he could have taken to strongly improve it

Rappers don't get that if you name an album this, thats what people will expect! Movie sequels usually do a better job of actually being like the original, because they just rehash all the elements of the original. Which is not creative at all, and often sucks but they rarely go in some leftfield or random direction that doesn't make sense for the franchise.

Rappers don't seem to take anything into consideration. Like theres a few nods to the original - Mighty Healthy sample, Knuckles etc. Things that the fans wouldn't care if they appear on a sequel album, while not doing the things that actually defined the album, and just basically doing whatever. Like actually recreating the conditions of the first SC would be a sequel - RZA exec produces, theres a strict aesthetic and a handful of beatmakers, Ghostface is not rapping like the 4th member of The LOX and is doing his free association, vivid imagery style.

I was listening today and its a cool record but its right in the middle of his discography, nothing amazing but better than some of his later records. Ghost is one of the greatest so its hard for him to ever totally bomb.

That drop also makes no sense cause the record is from 2007

@Awesome Wells, what do you know about the album?

I only heard a few joints and some of the beats that are supposed to be on it.

But they paused the sessions, so I don’t know what happened after that.

With all that said, I'm mad nervous. LOL!!
