When I heard the Kanye Jesus walks reference

:flabbynsick:
the Don Imus "keeping it real" reference was the 1st one I caught, then I heard some others and wondered if maybe Metaphysics was an unreleased track so did some digging and found a Ghost interview in Rolling Stone promoting the Roses album and he talks about SC2 and said its basically done and that 80% of it is 17,18 years old and how it still sounds fresh and shyt, so yeah I guess a bunch of these tracks are Big Doe, Ghostdini and Appolo Kids leftovers, which, now knowing that this is just a lost tapes with a few new cuts I'll digest it differently, wasted opportunity imo to do something big on Nas label and calling it SC2, shoulda called it a sequel to one of those 3 albums if anything but whatever.

Now knowing this though and what's left to come which is Big L, so not new music, Mobb Deep, so not new music, De La Soul...I couldn't care less, its basically will the Nas and Preemo album be better than Slick Rick's?

Ghostface is truly one of the greatest rappers of all time.

In his upbringing he was inspired by soul records. And he took his love for that, mixed with growing up in New York in the 70s and 80s and expressed it in his version of Hip Hop.

I swear RZA is aG for who he picked to be in Wu Tang.

Each individual has a burning passion.

You love to see it.

And they all take over in different eras. Odb, Method Man, Raekwon.

How Gza creeped into the album and me not knowing he was on there was a pleasant surprise.

This ain’t it. I’m just not interested in what he’s saying on here. Beats are not great. A few standout joints. Definition of a mixed bag.

This is pretty much the best you’re gonna get from Ghost these days from a rapping standpoint. It’s on par with what he’s been releasing the past 10+ years.

Metaphysics is clearly from an entire different era completely :russ: dope track.

Track is prolly 15+ years old.

The album does end strong.
It's from 2007

I'm actually a bit concerned for the Premier and Nas.

If it's like the recent Nas Preem breakbeat beats. I'm concerned.

If it's 90s premier, Illmatic, Nas is like Premier than it has the potential to blow away rap for the good to the next level.

I pray it's going to be the great version of them both. I have faith.

Solid album to be far - first album I’ve liked from Ghost since the Pretty Toney/ Fishscale era. Obviously a lot of soul sample beats on here as there should be but I like that he didn’t overuse it as usually does and had some breakbeat stuff on here too - Ghost is one of my GOATs but he seriously been making the same album for nearly 20 years now as some have said. The Trial is classic Ghost/Wu :wow:

Part 1 is an all time classic so I was worried about this, especially when I saw there was no RZA involvement. This is obviously not on the level of part 1 but it’s one of the better albums that he’s released for a long time

Gona bump this after work on the way home in a hour. I just skimmed thru the production credits on tidal. It says ghost produced the whole album. Can this be true? Lolllllllll idk how I feel about that, but I’m still pumped to hear it.
He produced about 4 tracks, Scram Jones did a few, Sean and LV, EZElpee and a couple producers I never heard of

Definite improvement over his last couple of releases but SC2 was the wrong title :hubie:
He shoulda called it The Big Ghostdini Apollo Rehab Tape, and it shoulda been promoted more that it was a Lost Tapes style album, going into knowing that with Nas lost tapes and most Nas fans consider that a classic, if Ghost fans were aware they were getting a collection of 07-09ish tracks they'll probably feel different about this album than going in thinking it's new material and in the vein of an updated Supreme Clientelle

It’s an old record. He did that around 2004 ish but added few new lines
It's from 2007, dont know why Rosenberg says that in the drop, or that's just an old Rosenbytch drop from 2004, it's funny though that Wacktion Bronson ended up on Ghosts unused beat for this in 2011 tho lol

Towards the end of my second listen…

This is a pretty good Ghostface album.

Imma stop having faith though, coz it should never have been called SC2.

These dudes be lying, but It’s good promo. I get it.

They all do it…and sometimes I buy in.

I’m a huge Ghostface fan! This album is beyond subpar for him calling it SC2!!! What he’s missing is the arrogant cocky Ghost of the SC era, no way reek da villain and NEMS deserved to be on an album of this caliber/hype!

As much people hate to say it, SC was what it was cause He had amazing production overseen by The RZA and style influenced by Lord Superb! This album has no replay value for me!

The GZA sounded his age, 62 years old lol

Final thought: album sounded like a Ghostface presents subpar rappers and subpar beats!
Does your opinion of the album change if it's called Lost Tapes 2007-2009 and not Supreme Clientelle 2? Mine did halfway through when I found that out, I restarted it listened again knowing that it was just a collection of unreleased tracks and could.appreciate the records more but when I was expecting SC2 I was diassapinted in what I was hearing. I dunno, I think he shot himself in the foot calling it SC2
