This is garbage :scust:

To take a bunch of old, unreleased, unfinished songs and release them as an album named SC2 is basically a scam. He knows this is low effort music. It's basically a "keep the lights on" album. Slap something together and make a little money off these white people in Europe dressed in Wu Tang t-shirts.

Miss me with the "be happy a legend is still putting out music" BS. Why should I respect this when he clearly doesn't respect his audience?

Gunn could've gotten him right. Alchemist could've done the same. You have two people who are behind some of the best produced hip hop over the last 5+ years doing a sound that's perfect for you but you refuse their services. That's because working with them means there's a standard you have to meet. They're going to make you work hard but some of these vets just want to phone it in. It has nothing to do with a budget and paying for the production. They don't want to put in the work. These random producers don't have the cache to tell them to rewrite a verse because it's not good enough.

It's funny reading these comments.

Gfk is my fav wu. I have him in my top 5 DOA

His verses don't hit the same like they used to.

Both the pen, the frantic delivery and the clever English usage.

People hate on 3 stacks for avoiding this very scenario but it is what it is

He's washed. Pen isn't there and his voice is cooked. He should hang it up.

He can do whatever he wants and work with whoever he wants. I'm going to judge to final product.

So Al, Daringer, and Conductor are on "overkill" but the SC2 production is clearly inferior to their recent work so what are we talking about here? Are you looking at the names or listening to the music?

He shoulda called it The Big Ghostdini Apollo Rehab Tape, and it shoulda been promoted more that it was a Lost Tapes style album, going into knowing that with Nas lost tapes and most Nas fans consider that a classic, if Ghost fans were aware they were getting a collection of 07-09ish tracks they'll probably feel different about this album than going in thinking it's new material and in the vein of an updated Supreme Clientelle
I agree heavy with this

He don't wanna pay for that you mean.

Anyway,

Imagine being Ghostface Killah and having a spoken word chick have better beats than the "sequel" to your best album during the same year

Oh wait, there's nothing to imagine :unimpressed:

I don't hate this, still absorbing it, but I can't understand why everyone keeps saying how cohesive and locked in the first Supreme Clientele and so on were. Ghost was always known for being sloppy as hell to the point where the tracklists printed on the back of his first 3 CDs didn't even match the disc. That was part of his charm, albums were all over the place with a hard-hitting song followed by a cartoon theme followed by Ghost singing for some reason followed by another banger and so on.

Apparently he didn’t want to record any new music either. The guy you replied to said WSG too who could curate a good diverse group of producers for Ghost.

I’d have liked this more if I knew it was a lost tapes. Calling it SC2 is kinda crazy

It's complete bullshyt. There no cohesiveness because it's not actually an album or a focused project. It's just a collection of songs he was doing while dropping mid for years. On top of that, too much of what I'm hearing is far too derivative of other shyt. Man dropped a Coke Zero version of his Impossible verse and didn't even have anything surrounding it.

There's too much dope shyt out for me to waste time on bullshyt albums. Hate to say it, but Ghost is finished. Been finished really.

At least the Rae album was an honest effort, even if it didn't move the needle for his discography.
I feel the same way you feel about this album with Alfredo 2. I feel that "You Only Die 1nce" was more cohesive as far as a project goes.
