Columbia University will no longer require SAT or ACT scores in undergraduate admissions, making it the first Ivy League college to implement the pandemic emergency measure as its official policy

Men of all races in Gen Z ain't going to college like they used to. Even those white and Asian males are skipping higher education, and the elimination of SAT and ACT scores is an act of desperation on their part.

i'm reading that in relation to your title...i interpreted "highest education gender gap has closed" as meaning us/black people, the group with the largest disparity, the gap has closed = meaning at parity. i guess you mean the gap got smaller, which, cool, that makes sense

Educational attainment among Black Americans is on the rise. In 2021, 26% of Black adults ages 25 and older – 7.5 million people – had earned a bachelor’s degree or more, up from 15% in 2000.

Growing shares of Black women and Black men have earned a bachelor’s degree or more over the last two decades. However, Black women have seen a larger gain than Black men, leading to a widening gender gap in educational attainment. In 2021, 29% of Black women ages 25 and older had earned at least a bachelor’s degree, up from 16% in 2000. Among Black men of the same age, 22% had earned at least a bachelor’s degree in 2021, up from 13% in 2000.

The gap was grown larger not smaller. A 7% difference up from a 3% difference. But BP becoming educated is always a plus.

The gap mentioned here is for those with Masters degrees plus. For bachelors degrees or higher the gap has risen for all races though more rapid for Whites in the past 20 years. Our gap was 9% in 2000 and 12% now though numbers are up for both groups. It is 9% for Whites, 8% for Hispanics. But back in 2000 it was only 3% for Whites.
