I think your reasoning is just conflated in platform tribalism and really not much more. Even the original ff7 was marketed as a movie
again
The beginning of the sony “cinematic game era” :blessed:

You know exactly the style of game at reference here and you’ve even applauded sony at being the best at it.

Telltale games are NOTHING like “sony cinematic” games.

Not sure why that’s so difficult for you to admit.

Telltale games are story based games but they are not trying to be “cinematic”

That was a tv show trying to be like a video game.

See the difference :wow:
Damn, you might be right.

I’ll give you the props for being knowledgeable about posers cause you championed the cable box posing as a video game console. Also known as the Xbox one.
:wow:

one of your “favorite games of all time”

i think the difference between you and me is my gaming taste reflect all the things i liked growing up, while you shut off a large number of games because of the platform you aligned with.

im consistent and honest with my taste. You can draw a straight line through what I’ve always enjoyed about gaming. I don’t deprive myself of things i’d like

Classic Telltale Games are Point & Clicks. The closest we have to “movie games” are Supermassive and David Cage’s games. Which are more Interactive Cinematic games than Visual Novels and Point & Clicks.

idk what games these are to be honest, I just thought of the Telltale joints because you can basically hand the controller to someone with little to no gaming experience and they'll still be able to follow the on-screen cues to progress the story

but yeah at their foundation they are point and click games

Who the hell you know was calling games before UC2 "Like a movie", "Cinematic". "Blockbuster summer like!"?? :stopitslime:

Like i said in any other context yall know the difference.

Nobody said FF7 was “cinematic” or “like playing through a movie”

Yall admit sony and uncharted created that genre of game, but now you wanna retroactively go back and chose a turn based JRPG and try to pretend it’s ANYTHING like the formula popularized by games like Uncharted.

@Gizmo_Duck with the bait and switch.

The OG ff game is absolutely NOTHING like uncharted.

FF7 remake absolutely DOES take some design inspiration from uncharted.

That is objective fact and you know it.

Not even sure why you are arguing it at this point.
