Another point I want to make about your post is how can you list Amerie up there with Beyonce and Mariah Carey. She was a one hit wonder. You are bugging!

Keri Hillson had more impact then Amerie for sure. Amerie is the one who had limited success.
i didn’t add Amerie to compare her success to beyonce, she was an example of a pretty mixed exotical that black women liked. And Amerie had two albums people fukked with and a handful of features, amerie was definitely more on than Keri hilson. Keri was a moment in time, two flopped singles off her debut followed by finally getting 1-2 records to stick. A one hit wonder is just that, a one hit wonder, flavor of the moment is someone who gets a few things to stick for an album and never gets back to that point again. Keri truly lucked up the first time around, her garbage second album paired with making the beehive mad tanked her.

Nah, Im not gonna let you do that and rewrite history. Compare Keri Hillsons run of hits to Amerie's one hit on wiki. It's not even close!

This is facts and not even opinion here. She was not more on then Keri Hillson.

Even that Pretty Girl Rock song she dropped as a single for her second album went bigger then most of the songs Amerie dropped during her career. Pretty Girl Rock debuted at number 2 on the charts so it was clearly the Beyonce shyt that messed her career up imo and the numbers don't lie.

Here's a thread or discussion someone needs to start, the music industry/labels/managers are controlling the narrative of black women in the industry far too much to the point they have pushed them out the door entirely.

We need to get back to a time of pure talent, great writers and dancers. Too many labels now are putting struggling singers on the front stage, writing, picking the music, and create everything but a natural growth of a musician for these woman.

No one is rewriting anything. Survey people who were 14 and older at the time amerie dropped and ask who people were fukking with more when they were out - amerie or Keri. When is the last time anyone ever made a “I miss Keri hilson” thread or discusses her albums? Amerie gets threads made on her a few times a year.

And why don’t we fall in love, taking to me, and one thing >>> keri’s Songs....which I can’t even remember the name of right now :mjlol:

That sounds nice but the numbers say otherwise and cannot be disputed :sas2:

Also there are threads on here about Keri Hilson and what happened to her. Here is one:
whatever happened to Keri Hilson fine ass

I understand you may like Amerie better but with all due respect, fukk what you like. You got to take that out of the equation when talking about stars in a conversation like this. In reality Amerie had only one real hit, one! and a minor hit with Why Don't We Fall In Love that charted top 40 but it was popping on Bet at that time with her video. Keri Hilson had more of a run then Amerie ever did and that is fact and can be supported by numbers. You may argue Amerie was more impactful or talented but she was not a bigger star.

She actually beat Mariah and is now tied with Mary J Blige who is the highest woman on that list. The record was for most airplay or spins for a single, essentially she was number one on the R and B and hiphop airplay chart for 15 weeks now...

Ella Mai's 'Boo'd Up' Ties For Most Weeks at No. 1 by a Woman On R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart

Boo'd Up has been getting that many spins apparently.

that's the lesser (non-mainstream pop) chart not the top 100/40 one, just as a I figured

Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” ties for the longest-running No. 1 among songs by women on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart since the list's inception in 1992.

The single logs its 15th week in charge on the chart dated Sept. 29, matching the run of Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” from January - April 2006. “Boo’d” holds on to the chart’s top rank despite an 11 percent drop in audience in the week ending Sept. 23, according to Nielsen Music.

it peaked at #5 on the overall pop chart

That's what I said, the Rnb and Hiphop one. When it comes to female acts she is tied for having the most airplay for her song which is a big deal. Either her song is really great or nothing is out right now to compete with it at radio but I salute her for that.

LOL...the poster who posted this video first only got 1 reply which was me. See the difference a eye catching thread title can make.

you cant compare ella to mariah and then quote that chart:patrice:. The R&B-HiopHop chart vs Top 100 is the same difference within chitlin circuit vs true mainstream

:gucci: Why did you make another thread if you knew someone else made the same thread first?

No. Someone made the same thread 1st but it didnt have the same catchy title. The 1st thread was a flop with only me replying in it. This thread came 2nd and the title made it platinum.

Lmao breh, you're not understanding.

Forget Top 100 and I'm not speaking on the R and B or hiphop charts either. I'm speaking on the chart for airplay among hiphop and Rnb singles which is one of the components that make up chart placement on those charts you're speaking of. Basically what that means is when it comes to the airplay of her single(radio spins) when you compare it to the other hiphop and rnb singles out right now she has had the most radio spins for 15 weeks in a row which is not an easy thing, especially considering she originally released boo'd up a year ago in 2017 on her EP. For comparison, Hotline Bling is tied with her record right now having the most airplay for 15 weeks in a row too.

Mariah may have placed higher on some of her singles because more people bought the singles and other factors that go into chart placement, however Ella Mai has had more radio spins on her single among the competition right now. This is in comparison to Mariah when she released her hit singles among the competition back then. With that said it's no comparison, Mariah has more hits and bigger hits along with a legendary career but Ella has beat her when it comes to air play is all, and she is now only behind Miguel who had 23 weeks with Adorn. She is tied with Mary as the highest women on the chart.
