Like I said in another post to @Deacon Frye there are going to be wildly divergent takes on this battle.you shouldnt care in your little bubble, but those casual fans will be the reason nas gets dusted
then there would be a 30 page thread on here right after crying about those same casual fans not giving a fukk about memory lane, i gave you power and other classic nas b sides songs.
mannie fresh (niche) vs scott scorch (mainstream) is actually a perfect example of how this battle would go.
He could easily play Cherry Wine and Bye Baby.
I think people are getting the misconception that when me and others say hits we are talking about pop hits which is false. Tbh Jay doesn’t even have that many pop hits and it’s not like the ones he has are corny. During Jays prime he never was even the most popular rapper out. He was never as big as DMX, Ja, Em or Nelly. He might not even been as big as Luda. But him and the Roc ran the streets. In the black clubs you heard more Jay than Nas. In a black neighborhood you heard more cars playing Jay than Nas. If you were at a black party or cookout or block party you heard more Jay than Nas. That shyt means something. Jay has more fans than Nas. All these reasons are why I think he would beat Nas even tho I think Nas is the better rapper but not by muchLike I said in another post to @Deacon Frye there are going to be wildly divergent takes on this battle.
And I agree with the Manny/Scott comparison, assuming Nas plays his best songs and Jay plays nothing but mainstream hits.
Yea but let’s be honest. Those Jay features made the songs what they were. I Got The Keys was received the way it was becuz it was Jay and Future on a track together. Nobody woulda cared if it was like TI and FutureMost of these aren’t even his songs lol

Why are you guys playing Nas like he's some dusty, underground backpacker that made songs that only white metalheads who hate rap for the most part like?
Is he not a successful artist that sold millions of records? Do people not know what "N.Y. State of Mind" or "If I Ruled the World" or "Made You Look" is?![]()
It's over after two tracks.
What We Do isn’t a club record though. Not better than What We Do Is Wrong
