Is it better to groom your kids to be entrepreneurs or go to college, choose a career and grind it out in the workforce.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

But a lot of people want to be rebellious so.....they'll let their children wander around in the world.

This mentality is why so many young adults fail. This is why kids graduate high school with zero awareness of how the world works.

You’ve been conditioned to push age old narratives. This isn’t the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s.

Actually no. Your mentality of, "It's either one or the other" is a recipe for failure.

Explain the kids who graduate that become successful and have awareness of the world. Stop blaming school because you don't know how to file taxes as an adult. Either you give a shiit or you don't. School doesn't determine who you are. That's why as a parent you should just do your best to educate your kids about life. Not "groom" them to become a failed business owner or a possible college graduate.

You sound like a try hard like Jaden Smith when he was talking about how as a kid he wanted to talk about politics and the economy to his friends

:mjlol:

Also young adults and teens fail because of drugs and mixing with the wrong crowd/friends etc.. Not because their parents didn't push them to become entrepreneurs

The average person with a bachlers degree earns more per year than the average entrepreneur. I belive the average with a bachelors is around 70k and for self employed folks its around 60k per year. And if you are self employed you pay for your own health insurance and any other cost of doing business. You also dont get benefits like 401k with company matches, paid vacation time etc and you will likely not be working simple 9 to 5 hours. So most "entreprenuers" are broke and stressed out. Let's stop the cap.

It's definitely not worth it at today's tuitions prices and non-existant job security. If it was you wouldn't need a Biden Executive Order cancelling student loan debt.

The problem with y’all’s entrepreneur takes is you solely rely on survivorship bias. The only “entrepreneurs” you hear from are the ones who succeeded. What about all the ones who’ve failed? That number far out paces the success stories. It ain’t for everyone. In fact it ain’t for most.

If your child is destined to be an entrepreneur he or she would show signs early in life. Of being self-sufficient, creative, resourceful, responsible, and most importantly, ambitious. All of this would come naturally by high school to a child who is meant to be an entrepreneur. If they don’t show these signs they’re more fit to follow a more traditional path.

I’d still send my kid to college either way though. College is a tool that can be used for any end you want it to. If you wanna get p*ssy, become popular, build a network, start your own business, etc. all of those are made easier at a good school. I went to college with many people who already had successful businesses by junior year and many more who went on to post-grad. College isn’t the problem, it’s people going to without any plan or discipline and pissing away $50k and 4-5 years of their life there without realizing reality is waiting around the corner and won’t have any mercy on them. But that goes back to the traits I named, having them at an early age makes you more likely to move correctly and be responsible, which make you more suitable to be an entrepreneur

I think folks should groom their children to want to do something in general .. whatever that something is. Have a vision and work towards it. A lot of folks are raising leeches and it’s disturbing to see.

I came in here to make this point

Let me say something different

“Entrepreneur” is used on the internet mostly to mean you don’t have a structured work schedule or boss

In reality you need to deliver a service or product to a market that is in need of that thing over and over and over. It doesn’t matter if you are an “entrepreneur” or “worker” the transaction is the same

You just contradicted your whole statement.

People need to stop blaming college for being idiots that wanted to go to college to hang with the bros instead picking majors with high return.

Also grooming your kids sounds retarded You can’t groom your kids into something you want them to be. This never works lol
Facts bro! I knew a lot of people that went into college trying to be a doctor or go after the high paying job. But once they saw that course load and that it could eat into their fun time they chose an easier path. Now they have a BS degree that doesn't pay them much and boohooing to the world

Exactly college is broadcasted as a place for these kids to go and have fun but in reality it shouldn’t be

I choose entrepreneurship. Don’t rely on public schools. Train your kids to enjoy reading and learning. They should know how the economy works before they’re in high school.

Unless they want to be a doctor or scientist, I see no benefit of them going to college.

The public school system is a joke in this country unless you can afford private school.

it's best to supply your children with all the resources they need so they can best decide for themselves where their passions lie.
