You should feel stupid. Do you want to see how that convo went without the sarcasm that went over your head:

You: We'd be in closer contention if Pap hadn't blown those saves.

HHR: If we are going to negate Papelbon's blown saves, it's only fair we negate other closer's blown saves. Once we do this, the phillies are very likely in the same position they are now.

You: :bryan: :damn::dwillhuh:

Man I cannot BELIEVE that the Dodgers, the Pirates, the Braves, the Cardinals AND the Brewers ALL LOST yesterday. Amazing, it’s almost like the Baseball Gods are pulling out all the stops with this one. :whew:

Some posters have been calling the Phillies bullpen trash and while they were trash for the first 3/4 of a season they have been doing very good over the last month. Due mainly to b*stardo becoming unhittable again like he was for the majority of last season (His K/9 since the beginning of August is around 18).

Basely, I agree with your post. However, b*stardo is WILDLY inconsistent. He WAS, at one point, the set-up guy, had won the role outright and he had a great year last season. But I think teams have figured him out, his inconsistency is what has kept him on the bench. Personally, I thought they should have traded him at the deadline…..

Edit: And players like Aumont are why you don't sign relievers to 50$ million contracts :sadcam:

…now this is true. Glad they never made him part of any of those past trades. Plus, that fool is, like, almost seven feet tall ‘n shyt. :whoo:

World Series Titles since 2003 (Cliff Lee's official rookie season)
Yankees - 1
Phillies - 1
Rangers - 0

:pachaha:

I’m one of the most objective Phillies fans on here….and even if we make the postseason, I think it’s going to be difficult to go that far in it. Again….with this current 7-game win streak, and a 4-game stand against the lowly Astros, AND a 3-game stand left against the Braves, it’s entirely possible for them to make that wildcard. HOWEVER…and I’ll say this again….that bullpen IS still trash. Lindblom is the worst fukking acquisition EVER. That fakkit came into the game on Tuesday up FIVE fukking runs and promptly gave up three. :snoop:

Not to mention, I think all those years of highly-emotional close games and deep innings is finally taking its toll on Doc. Him AND Cliff Lee will both pitch excellent games through about five innings, and then get to the sixth and just fall apart. All that pressure from the previous seasons – having to maintain 1 or 2-run leads because the offense was shytty – is finally catching up to them. Mebbe Cliff less so, he seems more comfortable out there now that he doesn’t have to carry the load. But Doc? :smh:

The reality is, we need to sweep the Astros before people start REALLY taking this run seriously.

If the Phillies win the 2nd wildcard, which pitcher starts in the one game playoff?

Hate to bring this up again..........

...but the Phillies added Michael Young and Delmon Young this winter. They will both be starting.

:lolbron:

Good luck with that.

I was just thinking...has a team ever had a more methodical crawl toward :flabbynsick: than the Phillies?

1. Ryan Howard - you knew that contract was :stopitslime: but most people figured that at least up until the last 2 years of it he would bang out prob 40 and drive in 120...then he hurt his achilles and really hasn't been right since...turning into the black Adam Dunn...:flabbynsick:

2. Chase Utley...wtf happened to this dude...what happened to his knees...I saw dude in a Mioplex or some shyt commercial then next thing I know he is in and out of the linement with mysterious knee issues...he also looks damn near 40 now :flabbynsick:

3. Michael Young...man fukk this dude...lol at this pitbull face cac thinking the Rangers would be broken up over him leaving when nobody really gave a fukk...dude needs to wash his neck to...what is that hives on his neck...cmon b wash your neck:flabbynsick:

4. Delmon Young...not sure if we can ever use :flabbynsick: for him since he always been :flabbynsick:

5, Roy Halladay...yo what the fukk happened to this dude :wtf:...he just fell off the edge of a cliff...I saw him get shelled a few weeks ago and I was like...who the fukk is this dude wearing Halladay jersey :why:...My man's fastball is college softball status, his off speed stuff looks like my retarded cousin threw it...it just seems like he is struggling to throw the ball...and he is making 20 million...what :why:...my man is out there getting his barry zito on...

they are trapped in 80 win hell, lineup is terrible they dont walk and theres no consistent power. Amaro really thought Revere/Brown and Mayberry is a outfield you can win with...

Halladay is finished, Lee is solid but not dominating like his pay would indicate. Kendrick has actually been their most consistent pitcher the last season +

So do we need to file the paperwork for Halladay, Utley and Howard or is that already taken care of?
