It's official: Game of Thrones is the most hurtful entertainment experience I've ever had.

Perfect opportunity for GRRM to release the Winds of Winter during this time. It will easily be better than the last few seasons and sales will go through the roof, and he would look like a hero after the disaster of the TV series. But we know he ain't releasing that shyt. :francis:

Once again..season 7 & 8 with 10 episodes each not rushed, was more than enough to stick the landing on this, fukking shame

Season 7 was a mess too. People were still optimistic because there was another season left, and the characters hadn't been as badly botched, but the writing in S7 was all over the place too.

The show really wasn't the same after season 4.
I don’t know about that, season 6 was amazing to me :yeshrug:

That is insane that I’ve literally not seen GoT come up once in the quarantine :ohhh: it would pass a ton of time too, but I won’tbe re-watching or suggesting a watch :hubie:
The last season devalued everything that came before. So badly infact that I only watched the first four episodes and had no desire to continue.

True blame goes to that fat old b*stard George.

9 years is more than enough time to finish the story and create a decent ending. The show fell off when they ran outta material to use and had to create their own ideas.

It kinda feels like dude has severe writers block and was relying on the show to inspire him.

I remember hearing that he told the writers how the story ended but I doubt he had a clue how he was gonna get to that point.

Even if George intended for the book to end similar to the show , he has to be reconsidering that ending now , especially after all of the outrage . Which will probably push the book back even longer .

He probably knew that bran would end up sitting on the iron throne, but that's probably all he had figured out ip to that point. He just gave them details like Jon's parents, arya as a faceless man, dany saving Westeros with the dragons, etc.

Linking all that shyt together was up to the writers and they were clearly rushing after they ran outta material.

Arya killing the knight king is something the producers of the show came up with. "It just felt wrong for someone else to do it" is what they said.

There will be lots of unanswered questions in the book as well tho. People who believe they will get an answer to Quaithe, The misterious rings of the White Walkers, Azor Ahai really have not listened to enough GRRM interviews. He likes for his world to be clouded in mystery, myths and unfulfilled prophecys. Just like the real world.

Nah man some of the best episodes ("The Door", "Hardhome", "Battle Of The b*stards" and "The Winds Of Winter") never happened in the books.

The writers just stopped giving a fukk.

And he never told them exactly what would happen. He gave them a few ideas of where things could go, that's it.

I thought season 6 was up and down, but it had great moments. Battle scenes in BOTB were visually amazing, The Door was a great episode, The Winds of Winter was a great episode.
