i didn't argue one way or another for romo, just disagreed with the premise of sitting a season or two being outdated, especially since the day 1 starter motif hasn't been a smashing success either :manny:
I have nothing against having a young qb sitting. Just don't see what bringing an old washed up brittle vet who will hang it up real soon brings.

The team remained in the hands of York and her husband, John. In 2000, in a rare public interview, York lashed back in the pages of the San Francisco Chronicle. “You know what I resent the most from all of this?” she said. “I didn’t ask for any of this to happen. It fell into my lap: the 49ers, the accusations, the scrutiny, all of it.” In late 2008, the Yorks appointed their oldest son Jed, then 27 years old, to be team president.
“[The Yorks’] equity value in the team is their A game. It’s what drives them,” Young said. “It’s what drives most of the owners. It’s what matters. It’s what they think about. It’s what they talk about. And the B game is whether we win some games. … That’s the biggest issue with the NFL, is that success doesn’t track to success on the field. So you’re not held accountable.”
These two quotes are what bother me most about the Niners and why I'm done giving money (and energy) to them. The Yorks not only don't seem to care about football - it's just some shyt they have in their portfolio to cake off of - they're also cheap and greedy, so much so that they won't bother to pay up to bring in the type of operations personnel that will run the team competently. We cannot fukking win with them...they're caking right now off the strength of the NFL being what it is and have zero incentive to make things better.

fukkkkkkkkk :sadderniners:

2004 team that went 2-14 was the least the talented 49ers team I've ever seen.

Is this years squad worse?

Was listening to sports radio out here on Friday :gag: but they did kinda sway me to the chip Kelly needs to go this year side of the arguments. Basically, giving chip a second year with what we've seen from him and where them team is isn't any different than giving him one year, so it comes down to he's either one and done or you feel comfortable giving him 3-4 years because nothing is happening in year two (well maybe 3-4 more wins). If we get a new GM, year two isn't enough time to see if chip does better with presumably better talent.

I don't think chip is a good fit for the nfl, therefore I don't want him on the team, at the same time we're bottom of the barrel with talent and feel like it's unfair to do one and done with him, but I don't want him for 3-4 years...anyone else conflicted? :jbhmm:

I would only be on the "fire Chip" wagon if he had say in the roster. This is baalke's trash that he's trying to work with. I hate having 4 coaches in 4 years. We knew exactly what to expect from Chip. Shoulda let him build the roster if it was a one and done season for him.

Think the issues with this team is talent. That falls on the GM.
