Was listening to sports radio out here on Friday :gag: but they did kinda sway me to the chip Kelly needs to go this year side of the arguments. Basically, giving chip a second year with what we've seen from him and where them team is isn't any different than giving him one year, so it comes down to he's either one and done or you feel comfortable giving him 3-4 years because nothing is happening in year two (well maybe 3-4 more wins). If we get a new GM, year two isn't enough time to see if chip does better with presumably better talent.

I don't think chip is a good fit for the nfl, therefore I don't want him on the team, at the same time we're bottom of the barrel with talent and feel like it's unfair to do one and done with him, but I don't want him for 3-4 years...anyone else conflicted? :jbhmm:
you know how I feel about it :manny:
if chip is gonna get excuses, this means he will have to stay until theres tons of talent. but at that point it might take a few years of losing culture, like you say. nothing will change overnight so yeah...Im not on board with giving 3-4 years to chip. his offense is simplistic and taxing too much on the defense. jim oneill is a mediocre defensive coordinator. team doesnt adjust. meh. chip himself might not wanna stay tho, he keeps lookin miserable in pressers

Good point but that's what makes this offseason and season such a waste of time. We could have easily started acquiring that talent this past draft and free agency. You're not going to let the coach have a say in the roster and you don't even acquire any talent for him to work with? Then you fire him cuz he couldn't work miracles? Just a dumb, short-sighted hire if that's the case....which is not at all surrprising given the way this dumpster fire of an organization runs things.

I'm sure Chip would wanna leave. He has pride like anyone else but he wanted to get into the league so badly he probably didn't really think this through.

and this is why I wouldnt have minded tomsula staying and going through this shyt instead of chip. if we have shyt for ingredients, no sense for a master chef who cant create soup from crap, just grab the dude off the italian neighbors couch :pachaha: but then jed and baalke needed a fall guy for last season, which looking back looks amazing compared to this one

Shows the complete lack of direction from the top. These clowns have no idea wtf they're doing. They really thought Tomsula would be an upgrade on Harbaugh with a less talented squad? Then they thought Chip would turn piss to wine with an even lesser team? I just don't get the direction. They're running out of scapegoats though.

my point is, if any coach finna get the 'no talent' excuse whats the point of hiring such a coach in the first place tho?
its like a built-in excuse and you cant evaluate the coach until down the road when you team does get talent, and its likely you have to replace the coach anyway. I mean, sure sometimes throwing shyt at the wall and seeing what sticks can work, but very rarely so.

Jed thought a new coach would save his ass. Realistically, we should be booting tomsula and Jed together this season. This years change was stupid, I mean it was an admission they had the wrong coach, but at the same time, here we are again with a baalke that needs to go and a possible second coach that should have never been hired and needs to go.

I mean, this is all on the GM. Wehad a bad team last year and he elected to do nothing with most cap space in the league. GM should be canned ASAP.

Thing is I don't see any new GM coming in and retaining Chip so they ight as well fire him too.
