If you believe this, then so be it. I was raised in the Abrahamic religion, Christianity, and I disagree. Still, I only ask of you that you let me be, like I let you be. Can you do that? Your response to me seems you are incapable of it. You seem to have some need to convince me of the validity of your belief. Well, I will tell you right now, you are wasting time in that effort.

How do you think you are able to digest food? literally and figuratively

do you say to the food in your belly:

"I only ask of you that you let me be, like I let you be. Can you do that?"

see the quandary?

Brehda, here’s why I cant consider your breakdowns. They are creative but under textual and lingustic scrutiny they crumble pretty easily

For instance...u say David in Hebrew means “destroyer.” That’s just not true. U cant just make a claim and not expect anyone to check it. u know me too well for that lol

David (דָּוִד) comes from the root דּוֹד (dod), which means “beloved”...not destroyer. That’s why he’s known as 'the man after God’s own heart'.

the phrase 'sons of Israel' is used because Israel is the one YHWH made a covenant with. Its why the entire nation is called Israelites/Tribes of Israel.

'Son of David' is a royal messianic title. Both are positive titles but are used differently.

ok it is דָּוִד with shin

its funny how you said "after god's own heart"

let me be clear I do not believe your interpretation of that name mainly because of all the other roots of it (no pun intended) that imply my meaning is closer to the truth

interestingly there is folklore surrounding this in the form of "love plants". If you take my interpretation of David and Goliath it is actually the interface between pregnancy and infertility but its a huge leap to see it. In the bronze age many civilizations associated Zeus with the bull. And one of David's lamentations is being surrounded by bulls of Bashan...take that how you will

God made his covenant with Abraham through his seed Israel

there is a distinction. Abraham deals with a conflict that Israel does not, and Isaac has a conflict that the other two do not see as well (being bound by your father and your son etc)

:skip: hol up you're trying to say that שָׁדַד

l5ZyXhH.png

is somehow synonymous with דָּוִד ??? Because they both have 2 Dalets in them??? :skip:

n8ABard.png

Those are two completely different words, from different root families. :why:One is a verb and one is a noun. You cant just add a shin to it and be like :manny: same thing.

Thats like me saying 'Call' and 'Mall' mean the same thing bc they both got two L's in the word

bruhhhhhhh

trying to link english with hebrew is a fools errand

one language came out of egyptian, which in turn came out of byblos

where the language was treated as a goddess

english was never designed with the same considerations in mind as ancient languages

as I said to @Koichos I know what made him laugh with the "Vav"

. . . this is why the scrolls are separate but in an english bible (book form) the pages are lain on top of eachother with no respect to the mysticism.
It’s interesting you say that. My family’s minhag is that
  1. a Sefer Tοrah may be placed on top of a printed T'na"ch, Hummash, Siddur or Mahzοr but not vice versa;
  2. a printed T'na"ch may be placed on top of a Hummash, Siddur or Mahzοr but not vice versa; and
  3. a Hummash may be placed on top of a Siddur or Mahzor but not vice versa.
The principle is that a book or object of ‘lesser’ ḳ'dushshah (holiness) should never be placed on top of one of ‘greater’ ḳ'dushshah. Customs vary with regard to scrolls of the eight N'vi´im and eleven K'tuvim; some say that they share the same degree of ḳ'dushshah, but most authorities maintain that a Tοrah scroll has the greatest ḳ'dushshah of all and nothing should ever be placed on top of it. There are also varying minhagim concerning t'fillin, m'zuzοt, and volumes of the Bavli and Y'rushalmi and other Jewish texts.

@ me when @Koichos shows how שָׁדַד (shadad) and דָּוִד (David) are connected linguistically in Hebrew. If he can, I'll hold my L
lol.. definitely not. Besides,
  • שָׁ־ sha- in the verb שָׁדוּד shadud (with וּ functioning as the vowel u) is part of the actual conjugation of root שׁדד, while
  • שֶׁ־ she- prepended to דָּוִד david (וִ is a pure consonant here) would be the pronominal prefix שֶׁ־ and not part of root דוד.
It’s even possible for two words to have the same consonants and vowels and still be derived from different roots, contingent upon accent (stress) alone:
  • שבו can be vocalized as שָׁבוּ shavu (‘they captured’, root שׁבה) or שָֽׁבוּ shavu (‘they came back’, root שׁוב)
  • שתו can be vocalized as שָׁתוּ shatu (‘they drank’, root שׁתה) or שָֽׁתוּ shatu (‘they placed/put’, root שׁות)
  • בנו can be vocalized as בָּנוּ banu (‘they built’, root בנה) or בָּֽנוּ banu (‘in/with us’, not a verb at all; and not to be confused with בָּֽאנוּ baanu, ‘we came’, root בוא)
And I cannot tell you how many times I hear people utter
  • יִרְאוּ yir´u (‘they will see’, root ראה) or even
  • יִֽרְאוּ yir´u (‘they will be afraid’, root ירא)
instead of the appropriate יְראוּ y'ru (the imperative ‘fear!’) in the Tillim 34:10 verse יְר֣אֿוּ אֶתֿ־יְיָ֣ קְדֹֿשָׁ֑יו כִּי־אֵ֥ין מַ֜חְס֗וֹר לִירֵאָֽיו recited at the end of birkat hamazοn!

lol this is light work. This is why us Israelites hang around this site. To shut down copied and paste theories. If you actually read and studied you would see how dumb this question was.

Acts Chapter 1:6-11
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Christ told the jews it wasn't time yet to fulfill the last days prophecies. He fulfilled a lot of OT prophecies but the ones OP's referring to wasn't the time of his first coming. He will return in all power and glory and that's when the humble sheep that went into heaven will come back as a roaring lion, slaughtering the enemies of the Israelites and returning the Israelites to their promised land

Then what?
