nikka did you even see Ray Allen play at uconn and Milwaukee when he got to the league? Ray was always a snipper.. the fukk are you talking about? :gucci:
never said he wasn't a sniper
he was an all around player during the first part of his career. Scoring in different ways.

He primairly became a three point shooter in boston and beyond

@Rhakim You say Birds fallout was more dramatic? Sure lets go with that. A big reason why is he was playing 44-46 minutes a night in the playoffs, playing back 2 back games in a much tougher and more physical era. It makes sense. His legs are dead. What happens with tired legs? Your shots are flat. These guys wont even play b2b games today. Imagine if the nba had b2b playoff games. These guys would cry.

From basically 1980-1988 before birds back went out Larry would play 75+ regular season games and 16+ playoff games every year. Yeah his shot %s are going to fall. Anyone can see that

Thats that new coli math

Say you can't do math without knowing you're saying it brehs. :russ:

I'll give you a clue.....If you drop from 38 to 19, then you've dropped by 50%, not by 19%. If you think real hard about that for a while then you can figure out the rest of the math.

I WAS SPEAKING ON WIDE OPEN
FOR NBA STANDARDS WITHOUT
SEEING ANY STATS.

THAT 6 FEET STAT IS ABSOLUTELY CRAZY.

BUT SINCE WE'RE LOOKING UP STATS...

46% PERCENT OF HIS TOTAL SHOTS ARE
WIDE OPEN 3S FOR "NBA STANDARDS".
(NO DEFENDER 4-6+ FEET AWAY)
AND I KNEW THIS WITHOUT
HAVING TO LOOK UP ANY STATS
BECAUSE ITS OBVIOUS TO
ANYONE WHO WATCHES HIM
CONSISTENTLY.

AS YOU CAN SEE
HE BARE TAKES ANY 3S WITH
DEFENDERS ON HIS HIPS.

THERES NO SPIN ANY OF
YOU nikkaS ARE GONNA PUT ON THIS.

ITS OVER.

You claimed his shots were "wide fukking open", having a defender 4 feet away and closing is not "wide fukking open", that guy is literally ONE STEP from being in your grill.

Like I already pointed out to you, Steph has to take half his threes less than 2 seconds after he touches the ball because he's coming off a screen with a defender closing hard. That is nothing like someone who is wide open and not even being guarded. It's "open" by modern NBA standards, but it's nothing by 1980s standards when they weren't even challenging those shots. Not to mention those standards are mostly relevant to 2pt shots, not 3pt shots where you need more time and a flatter trajectory to get off your shot.

And of course he barely takes any threes with someone "0-2 feet away". No one has taken many threes like that in any era - in most cases you can't even get the shot off unless you're much taller than your defender or take it with crazy elevation. Bird probably doesn't have 10 regular season threes under that sort of defensive pressure for his entire career.

Yep, this is the list. If we totally disregard context you need to get Ray Allen, Steph and Reggie out of the discussion, just like Bird :yeshrug:
Nah, it's not. To determine the best shooters you look at volume + efficiency. Reggie, Ray, and Steph are the most efficient high volume shooters in NBA history.

Then Steph would only average around10-12 pts a game in that era. 3 pt specialist shyt :ehh:

Act like his dad didn't average 16ppg in just 26-27 minutes with a fraction of the skills. :dead:

Steph Curry in the 1980s/1990s would be a more athletic Mark Price with better handles. And Mark Price was 1st-team All-NBA.

Yeah, he woudn't shoot as many threes. But the points Curry didn't get via 3pt, he'd still get via midrange and acrobatic layins after splitting the defense.

4 FEET IS WIDE fukkING OPEN
BY PRO SHOOTING STANDARDS.
THATS EMPTY GYM SHOOTING.

2 SECONDS IS ALSO A LIFETIME
FOR PRO SHOOTERS.

AVERAGE NBA RELEASE TIME
IS .54 SECONDS.

STOP COMPARING THESE NUMBERS
TO YOURSELF.
