Joel Embiid smirking after another 2nd round exit: "Like someone (Giannis) said its not a failure, its steps to success"

Has Giannis' quote done more harm?

Nah, what he said was bullshyt. After game six, he said he didn't get the ball enough down the stretch. You are the MVP and best player on the team. That cannot be an excuse. Demand the ball and get it done.

Game seven he was a complete no-show getting handled by Al Horford. He shot 42% in this series. That is unacceptable. If he plays up to his regular season standards, they win this series in six.

Harden of all people carried them to two of their three victories in this series. He was ass in games six and seven but he is not the best player on the team. Everything was there for Embiid to take this series home in game six and he failed, which is what has defined his postseason career. He needs to be better in the playoffs, period.

Embiid doesn't have a single defining playoff game. He has never carried the team on his back against an equal opponent.

If Jokic was on this team instead of Embiid, there is no question they would have won this series. Philly has everything they need besides their best player showing up when it matters most.
Nah, I don’t agree with the notion that they would’ve won with Joker. Boston is miles ahead of every defensive team the Nuggets have played and would’ve actually made Joker work on defense. Embiid held Boston to around 35 percent at the rim for most of the series, I don’t see Joker replicating that. The Lakers will be the first team with a defensive pulse Joker plays all playoffs you guys making an apples to oranges comparison. Joker has been to two WCFs. The first one, Murray was the best player on the team for the first two rounds to the point Jokar said he needed to help out too and this year Joker has clearly been better but has literally gone up against two depleted teams. Embiid lost to the best roster in the NBA. The idea that Joker would beat the best team in the NBA in 6 games is being very generous. The way you’re talking he better beat the Lakers in 6.

This sixers team doesn’t play hard, folds under pressure, cant overcome adversity and lacks that typical Philadelphia sports grit. 76ers will never win with joel as the #1 option. He’s more of a great #2.

I do agree with the bolded.

Philly was dumb as hell to get rid of Butler. If those two were together since 2019, instead of Butler dipping south, Philly would've went to the Finals already.

Salty bytches nitpicking Jokic on here :unimpressed:

That's why he the clear MVP. Nearly a 30-20 triple double and has nobody next to him out there :pachaha:

Well deserved big man. Hopefully Porter and/or Murray can contribute next year for Denver

Greatness acknowledges greatness.

Look at all the excuses and praise last year (and there’s more) when Jokic lost in 5 games in the first round, after being swept the year before. 1 playoff win in 2 years.

I know, I know he didn’t have a team. Everyone was hurt. I know.

Very different response in here. We see what time it is :mjpls:

The Seum spent all season gassing these two sorry ass nxggas as MVP, alternating back and forth between them both just to keep an agenda alive, only for them to crash out of the playoffs in embarrassing fashion and talk about their respective seasons on some TED Talk participation trophy shyt.

Ugh.

You mentioned it in your post but how the fukk you gonna gloss over Murray and Porter being hurt :mjlol:

If Harden and Maxey were hurt then your comparison would make more sense.
1 playoff win in two years for a back to back MVP and there was no slander :mjpls:

Embiid himself was playing on a torn knee and an injured ankle and went 7 games in the 2nd round. 47 year old PJ Tucker had to guard to Jayson Tatum. Harden is washed. Tobias has a bottom 5 contract in the league. We still pretending they were a good team?

C'mon, man. This isn't a genuine response at all. Jokic's career postseason averages are 27/12/7 on 53/41% shooting splits. Embiid is 24/11/3 on 47/29% shooting splits.

Since Jokic became MVP, these are his playoff averages by year, the first two he had a G-League backcourts besides Monte Morris, a backup PG, in 2021:

2021: 29.8/11.6/5.0 on 51/38% splits
2022: 31/13.2/5.8 on 58/28% splits
2023: 30.7/12.8/9.7 on 55/48% splits

I hope the Lakers win but I expect Denver to because of Jokic. You really downplaying and doubting Jokic's greatness? This guy's a fukking animal. :dahell:

Since you love your box score stats:

Jokic in the playoffs last season - 31 ppg on 60 eFG%, 13 rebounds and 6 assists without his #2 and #3 options
Embiid in the playoffs this season - 22 ppg on 45 eFG%, 10 rebounds and 2 assists with his team having a better record without him in the playoffs.

The time is that Embiid shyts the bed in the postseason and Jokic elevates his game.

It's no coincidence that when Jokic has had a healthy support cast he's been to two Conference Finals since 2020. Embiid has never been out of the 2nd round.

The same Harden that was their best player in this series, while their MVP, in his prime, shytted the bed? What does that say about Embiid that he played worse than a 'washed Harden'?

Give it up and stop telling on yourself. You're done.
