That's bullshyt. The A's got a bang for their buck using money ball.

But no championship. :manny: While they was playing money ball, the Angels won a championship.

You either 1st or you last. :win:

You dont need analytics to tell you without a top player you cant win a title

we can go back and forth all day on this....analytics can help you determine top players/best lineups/matchups etc...

Even with Spo...there's a rhyme and reason behind the guys who are on the floor with Lebron from a supporting standpoint. Why do you think Battier got benched?

Pondexter and Bayless are the lineups that would spread the floor with their ability to shoot from the outside. It was useless to even dump the ball into zbo when Leonard was standing with a foot in the paint ignoring Prince.

Dawg, you're relying on on Qunicy Pondexter and Jerrod Bayless to get you to the WCF? :usure: See how ridiculous that sounds.

Bayless is a streak shooter at best who should never be reiled upon. Pondexter wouldnt be a career starter anywhere else either.

:lupe::lupe: but even a real baskteball fan could tell you the reason why Battier got benched. There is no need to look at PER/Analytics to tell you Battier was getting bodied. :krs::krs:

I understand the need for analytics, you can't be completely ignorant to numbers, they are useful when used correctly in any business. But to go in other extreme is just as bad.

of course...everything in context.

Dismissing them though entirely...because "my eyes are the only evidence I need" is slightly ignorant

Heat are gonna win a title with close to a one man team and we already discussed the history of the league it might be time to give up your team ball theory and how you dont need great players to win titles.. i really dont know how much more evidence you need

Apparently 59 out of 60 teams winning with a certain formula is not a big enough sample size for you to consider looking at it my way :manny:

and to be fair, some 30 year old hot shot billionaire coming in and telling a basketball veteran how to do his job, because of his spreadsheet im sure can be insulting.

If any system you use keeps you from acquiring shytty role players (especially for more than one year) its worth the money.

The difference in the top 15-20 players wont matter because you wont ever get to chose in getting them anyway.

It is kinda hard to believe that the-coli.com, home of IT certs and entrepreneurs are anti statistics :aicmon:

As a general manager for a small market non superstar team. Your goal is to assemble a team that can win if shyt goes your way ONE season.

Westbrook fukk up his knee?Howard back flabby, Kobe on crutches, Clippers got Del Negro :whoo:

The griz needed one more break. They needed the warriors to beat the spurs cause we've smacked them around for years.

You need to capitalize because it may be 3 or 4 years before you have that chance again.

Role players play a motherfukking role, who cares what the name is. Its a skill set thats important.

So we should only play superstars and hall of famers to get to the western conference finals i guess

I feel sorry for the fans here in Memphis.

The new owner is nothing but a Ross Perot, Jr.

Only care about making money, instead of winning a championship.

I dont think I've ever said you dont need great players to win titles. George was playing at a very high level until last night. Hibbert too.

And yeah I think George can develop into a legit star.

And Im fairly certain teams who are using analytics more heavily still realize you need stars. If analytics are helping, why dismiss them? Just because you have a Lebron James or Kevin Durant doesnt deem analytics useless. I mean do you think teams should just concede because Lebron isnt on their roster?
