Of course the ATL
Kawhi might get $219M from the Spurs in a potential contract extension but the quality of life and opportunity for endorsements is much higher in Los Angeles. Jordan brand and other shoe companies are low balling Kawhi because they don't see him as marketable. This is a big reason why people like Kevin Durant and Penny Hardaway have disputed his status as a superstar even though he has the accolades and numbers, people to this day still consider him a system player. There's a big reason why Kawhi isn't marketable and its because he has bought into San Antonio and Greg Popovich's curmudgeon military culture. Tim Duncan was the same way in San Antonio. I think these are reasons why players like Stephen Jackson and Robert Horry have taken shots at the Spurs organization, an organization that looks bulletproof on the surface.

I don't think Kawhi is this quiet robotic dude he might be more introverted or laidback but we've seen the NBA do this as a marketing tactic they did it with Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose and over time those guys started showing their true personalities.

The only time I saw Kawhi play in college he was out here clapping in Jimmer's face, we've never seen this fire from Kawhi in the NBA.

Paul George is a free agent after this year, he's almost definitely leaving OKC. People keep saying the Lakers but they ignore that PG grew up a Clippers fan. The Lakers are too young, instead of chasing stars they should be developing the nucleus they have with Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Randle. George is 28 he needs to be in a win-now situation, every year he dunks less and less, it doesn't seem like he'll sustain athleticism through his 30's. I know PG and Kawhi always think about the what if, what if Indiana never did that George Hill trade? Those two on the wing would be a terror on both ends and they compliment each other perfectly.

Jerry West just took over the Clippers front office. If there's one thing about West is that he is strategic and puts together championship teams, son lost 8 titles as a player and went out and got 8 as an executive. :picard:

The Clippers have a core, DeAndre Jordan is about to be off the books, they're about to have a lot of cap space. West did a great job of flipping Blake Griffin for good players like Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, and Boban Marjanovic. They re-signed Lou Williams to a very team friendly 3 year, $24M contract. They have pieces that can easily be moved or can serve as a strong supporting cast.

C Boban Marjanovic
F Paul George
F Kawhi Leonard
G Avery Bradley
G Patrick Beverley

Who is scoring on this line-up? Two guards who can hound 94-feet, two wings who could defend 1-4, and a 7'3 giant in the middle. Boban would only play 15 minutes tops, but they have Montrezl Harrell who is basically a smaller DeAndre. Austin Rivers (player option), Wesley Johnson (player option) and Tobias Harris (would have to be traded) probably wouldn't be on this team but they would still have Lou Williams, Gallinari, Teodosic off the bench and their two way guys Ty Wallace and C.J. Williams have been great finds.

If Kawhi and PG-13 want to compete for rings, make $, and play back home in LA, the Clippers is the best choice for their careers moving forward IMO. :hubie:

Wish I could rep you twice :salute:
