It's been awhile since I've been as excited about the future of the NFL. For me, I'm 34, football is my first love and my excitement began waning in the mid-00s as the heroes of my childhood began retiring...
Charles Woodson is my favorite athlete ever, any sport. Growing up he was who I wanted to emulate more than anyone, he was the reason I was a Raider as a child, and honestly he's the reason I still lightweight root for the Raiders even though I wouldn't call myself a fan of the team. He retired when I was 26, and then all these other greats I grew up on were retiring in the seasons around his...
I lost some of my love for football in the years that followed, fell back in love with basketball which I ebb and flow in my interest on...
This past 2023 season, two things arose that have me captivated: the return to elite defense, this year was the first year we finally saw defenses catch up to offenses in an elite fashion; and 2, I would say the NFL is officially in its new QB era...
Brady retiring helps this, and look, alot of these guys have been bubbling for a few years, but I think it's stamped now, the new crop is here and they all look promising in some form or other. It's exciting, and I think these guys bode well for the future...
Right now, clearly all the QBs are playing for second place, but I don't really think it's arguable that Mahomes is going to face stiffer positional competition going forward than he has his first 6 years. There are fewer weak and fewer old QBs taking up starting spots, there are some real challengers moving forward. And obviously Mahomes himself, he's stamped, but it'll be exciting to see how he navigates the path forward with this list of guys ascending...

Stafford elevated his franchise to a Super Bowl victory soon as he got to a good oneDap for the Padford hate/facts. I'm tired of all these bozos retrofitting his time in Detroit like he was actually amazing the entire time. He was good but erratic. Never a guy who could elevate a franchise like Allen, Burrow, Jackson and Mahomes.
Two career Pro Bowls; never been an All-Pro. Was mediocre to poor in two of the three playoff games with Detroit. One Super Bowl run with a stacked roster does not make you a Hall of Famer.
For the list, I disagree on Tua. I think he's buns and if he didn't have Tyreek and Waddle, he'd look like Jimmy G on the Raiders.
