After the Rock got SUPER OVER? No they didn't turn on the Rock more than when Shawn came back...they were chanting YOU SCREWED Bret at Shawn during a damn Edge promoThe WCW/nWo storyline was basically over when Shawn retired. So nothing that happened after he retired could be said to "beat the WCW/nWo storyline". Austin vs McMahon didn't beat the WCW/nWo storyline. They happened at different times. Austin's run on top competed with the "nWo turns on each other" story throughout 1998.
Fans have turned on The Rock way more times than they ever went against HBK as a babyface (that one night at SS basically). What are we to make of that?
Follow this....Tyson DAMN SURE made up for the lack of star Steve Austin was in WM 14. EVERYBODY fukking knows thatSo let me try and follow your argument.
Bringing in Rock for WM 27 is evidence that neither participant in the main event (Cena, Miz) could draw. So in order to be logically consistent, them bringing in Tyson for WM 14 is evidence that neither Michaels NOR Austin could draw. That's your take on it?
Yeah he was great heel but at the same time HBK was heel since 92 how much of a difference could he have made as heel. I'm a Bret Hart Stan and loved their rivalry but there was nothing outside of Austin or Rock ascension to the top that was beating Turner.

They were competing with Goldberg who was bigger than any one member of the Nwo except Hogan. And he was red hot..he was MUCH bigger as phenom than Shawn and Bret together. He was who Steve Austin was dealing with. They messed up the Goldberg booking and had they not, they would of stood SOME chance in 99 before the Rock turned face and delivered that KO across the board on them and ECW.
The NWO started in 1996 and HBK was on top in 1996 they ran against one another. So based off the results of mid 1996 and part of 97. was HBK really going to beat NWO? They were loosing while he was on top and getting booed out of some markets I think it's safe conclusion to come up with especially if you wanna compare the numbers. The E needed new faces to compete and they pushed them to the moon once they realized what they had with Austin and later Rocky
Yes Rocky was booed early on as pretty much a rookie who was fresh out of Memphis at the time so comparing a green talent getting booed to a cat with 10+years of experance is pretty much the same right....and later on when he was already the rock he had the abilty to flip the crowd back into his hands within minutes or make them hate him minutes/seconds he truly was a master of the mic
Name two.
And I was thinking more of 01-02 for The Rock. The Rocky Maivia shyt doesn't count, he wasn't really The Rock yet.
You gotta be trolling. Undertaker was a stiff for like the first 7 years of his run. Sid was as entertaining as you can be when your lifetime average match rating is like 0.2* and your promos are more remembered for hilarious live mic botches than anything else. The only good thing about Bret was his in-ring, which apparently you don't value all that highly considering you made this thread so that doesn't really make sense to me.
Taker and Sid were so entertaining that they had the worst WrestleMania main event in history. I'd rather have had HBK vs Undertaker tbh but I guess that would have been less entertaining to you?
Yeah Jose Lothario was lame and in retrospect, earnest WWF babyfaces seem corny because Vince wanted them out there giving high fives and kissing babies and shyt. But at the time, he was the coolest guy to me because he did the best moves and didn't have boring matches.
I wasn't really checking for "edgy" promos as an 8 year old, I just wanted to see awesome moves and exciting action. HBGOAT delivered.![]()
Michaels posing in a gay magazine sure showed us.![]()
The nwo angle changed pro wrestling...Goldberg emerged from it all as a big risk and it worked and paid off until Nash fukked it all up and here we are in 2015...no WCW and all Cena, all the time.So you agree with me then. Goldberg was poorly booked. The initial nWo run was the best angle any WWF competitor ever had. Not poorly booked. Therefore they aren't equivalent.
